Exclusive Disney Archives and Disneyland

If you’ve been following along my Disney Pirates of The Caribbean journey, you would have seen my photos and excitement of my tour of the Disney Archives and my day in Disneyland. The Disney archives have amazing Disney memorabilia that would make any Disney fan drool! Some of the coveted items included The very first ticket for Disneyland, Walt Disney’s first Oscar, (YES I’m holding it!)Star Wars Droids, Storm Trooper helmets, The very first ever Mickey watch, and hundreds of other pieces that made you oooo and ahhhh. 

I have been know to be a pack rat and imagine my surprise when I saw an Epcot baseball hat from the opening that I actually have in my possession! I was in awe looking at everything and hearing all about the pieces and how they were obtained. Some items were hunted down and purchased from people, while others were in the Disney family. We learned about Walt’s imagination and how Disney is still building from his ideas and projects today. There was an original map of Disneyland and we learned the story behind it and about the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean ……the ride. Did you even know that the movie was created from the ride?

When I was nine years old, my mom took me to Disneyland and that was the first time I went on The Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The iconic ride is now celebrating 50 years and I was there to join in on the fun! I still got excited when I got in the boat and waited to sing a long with the pirates, It’s a Pirate’s Life For Me! They have since added Jack Sparrow to the ride and Barbosa so as you go along, you recognize these rum drinking pirates! It’s really one of the best family rides at Disneyland! Who doesn’t love a pirate and a boat ride?!! 

If you haven’t been to Disneyland, it is definitely a must do!
