What To Wear To Your Own Wedding

April 1, 2017 Rachel Ferrucci Leave a Comment

You’d think it would be pretty simple to choose an outfit for your big day. The bride wears a white gown of some description and the groom wears a suit, it’s not difficult right? Wrong! More of us than ever are shunning traditional poofy princess dresses and strict smart suits for something a little more personal. So if you want to inject some personality and individual style into proceedings check out these suggestions for your big day.

Dip Dye Hems wedding dress pink

For brides who don’t want to go all white for their big day there are some way to add some color into your outfit. Opt for a dip dye hem to add some individuality to an ordinary wedding dress. You can go subtle with a soft baby pink or amp up the attitude with a navy hem. Alternatively why not swerve white altogether? Some brides prefer a champagne whilst others love a dusky gray. Whatever your style, there’s a color out there to suit you, don’t be afraid to wear it.

For the grooms who have lots of fashion opinions and can’t find a suit that fits their style, why not create your own? Carl Navè Suit Makers create custom suits, pants, even ties, for men. Hand finished and made to measure these will fit like a glove and reflect your own personal aesthetic. If you’re tired of trying on generic suits from the rail, this is a great option. You can still choose to go traditional, or your could add a touch of flair with a cravat or skinny tie. Checked trousers and bowtie, sure, the only limit is your imagination when you go tailor made! .

Themed But Not Fancy Dress bride mini dress

If you’re having a themed wedding, or just love the style of a particular era, choose a dress of suit to match. A navy blue or royal blue suit, slim fit, is a good way to give a nod to the mod style without going overboard. Similarly if you love a flapper dress choose a bridal gown with some fringing and rose gold hues. Short 50’s and 60’s dresses are also popular for brides with a penchant for all things retro. Don’t be afraid to ditch the long sweeping gown in favor of a shorter dress on your big day.

Get Hitched Wearing A Hat

Wearing a head piece isn’t just reserved for the mother of the bride. If you’re having an alternative folksy wedding it could appropriate for the groom to wear a fedora. A bohemian bride shouldn’t shy away from headpieces either. A floral headdress is the ultimate accessory for any boho-chic wedding dress.

I didn’t realize how much poor sleep was affecting my trips… until I fixed it.

Waking up tired, adjusting to new places, different beds, time zones… it adds up fast.

Traveling with the AirMini changed that for me. It’s compact, simple, and makes it easy to stay consistent no matter where I am.

Now I actually feel like I’m experiencing my trips, not just getting through them.

Check it out at the link in my bio.

#ad No one tells you that your skin doesn’t just “age”… it changes.

Dryness, dullness, fine lines, that crepey texture… it’s not just time. It’s hormonal.

I kept layering on creams thinking I just needed something “better,” but nothing was actually addressing what was going on underneath.

M4 from @myalloy is different. It’s prescription skincare made specifically for hormonal skin, using topical estriol to help restore collagen, hydration, and elasticity right where your skin needs it.

It doesn’t enter your bloodstream. It works at the skin level. And honestly… it just makes sense.
