Trade Your Heart For Armor – Miranda Lambert Tells The Tin Man Why

October 31, 2017 Rachel Ferrucci 16 Comments

The Wizard of Oz brings so many wonderful memories, from watching it as a kid to watching it with my own children. Miranda Lambert uses the character The Tin Man to share about her broken heart. Life throws so many curve balls at us and sometimes it feels as if every ball is hitting us dead on. When Miranda was going through the pain of emptiness, it brought a new light on the Tin Man and what he represents; cold, empty, loneliness, and heartless. sunset

I feel like life has been pretty good to me but it doesn’t mean that I avoided heart break. When I listen to Miranda Lambert’s song, Tin Man, she is telling him how lucky he is not to have a heart.

If you ever felt one breaking, You’d never want a heart

Have you ever cried so hard you lost all strength and fell to the ground?

Has your heart been torn into so many pieces you thought it would never heal?

About a year ago my heart didn’t just break, it was shattered. For months (13 to be exact) I didn’t think the pieces could ever be put together. Recently I’ve been finding pieces like shards of glass and praying they would start to be glued back together. Every single word Miranda sings I can relate to. Miranda trys to talk the Tin Man out of getting a heart and would gladly trade her heart with scars for his armor. It’s a song that brings you to a specific point in your life. Our heart is one of our strongest organs but can be broken easily and takes a long time to heal. waves crashing

You give me your armor, And you can have my heart

Miranda opens up and shows us that we’re not alone, even celebrities are affected by broken hearts. We can listen to Tin Man, sing along with Miranda as we sing to the Tin Man. I feel listening to music is a great way to get it out and eventually start to heal. Miranda gives us that with Tin Man!

Do you think the Tin Man is lucky to have no heart?

I don’t normally go in for country music, but I’ve been a fan of Miranda Lambert from the beginning. Her voice and writing can really touch the heart.

I, along with many others, have had my heart broken. It’s after the heartbreak that truly defines who we are, Do we let it consume us, or do we pick up the pieces and move forward? This song might be one for those who are going through heartbreak.

Hearts get broken, Hearts Mend, but I definitely think it is better to have one than not to have one at all. I like Miranda Lambert, but hadn’t heard this one, off to take a listen now and see if it should make my Spotify Country Playlist.

I like listening to country music on occasion, and Miranda Lambert is one of the artists I listen to during those days. I will have to listen to her song, Tin Man. Heartbreaks are meant to strengthen us, to make us wiser, and to teach us that as long as it is beating, there is hope. I would rather have a heart with scars than to not have any heart at all.

Miranda Lambert is a great country artist. I know most of her songs have so much similarity to what she is going through in real life. That is why many people can relate to the lyrics of her song. However, in response to your question, I would rather have a broken heart that can heal than to have none at all.

That CD needs to come with a package of tissues! It gets me every time. That tells you what a powerful artist she is that she can evoke such emotion.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
