Spider Web Eyes

November 11, 2010 Rachel Ferrucci 3 Comments

My baby who is now a college student and off on her own, the one who would scream for her daddy to come running in to kill a spider, now has spider webs on her eyes. When did she grow up and when did she start doing her own Halloween make up? I hope you enjoy her post below!

It’s that time of year again. Time for an excuse for everyone to get dressed up and be something they  normally aren’t, but when you get older, you can’t still wear those same outfits as a kid. Ladies, you are looked at to be a bit sexier and those costumes can cost up to $70! So here is a fun solution that even guys can use (just do it a little different), MAKE-UP! That’s right, forget whatever outfit you were going to buy or spend hours making, and do a quick make-up Halloween look instead.

Now you may say, but I am not good at make-up. Most looks you can find online with instructions and  all it takes is a little practice. You would try on your Halloween outfit before just going out in it right? Same concept. From butterfly wings, fairy eyes, and angel make-up, to vampires, witches, and leopards; the right make-up can make any Halloween idea a blast!

This year, as the poor college student I am, I decided to go on trusty YouTube and see what I could find. My favorite online make-up artist (known as XSparkage) gave me a fabulous idea, SPIDERWEBS. Using her concept I gave it my own personal twist, and in about twenty minutes total (including face, lips, and eyes) I had the costume that got all the compliments from everyone all night!

it made me get my spider web right on my very first try! It isn’t as hard as it seems! Then simply just throw on an outfit that’s black, gray, white, or any mix of the colors and you are a spider web! I happened to have some packaging material lying around that looked slightly web-like so I tore it up and duct-taped it to my skirt! And TA DA! A sexy Halloween look that everyone will love!

What did you do for Halloween? Did you do your own make-up?

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
