Music inspires us every day. It can set a mood or enhance a feeling. We use music when we are happy, sad, to teach kids, and so much more. It seems perfect that Recovery Unplugged would use music to help with recovery! When I learned about their songwriting contest, I was more than happy to spread the word. I have many friends who are naturally talented writing poetry and music and this would be a great chance for them to show their stuff. I also have had friends who have struggled with addiction and I know how challenging it is to stay clean. Recovery Unplugged understands everyone has a unique personal history and set of circumstances. Their treatment is tailored to ensure the most effective approaches and best opportunity for recovery. Clients are able to use music as a catalyst to start to break down the barriers we build through their lives and their addictions.

The Recovery Unplugged Songwriting Contests signals the start of Recovery Month. Organizers announce professional and amateur songwriters are now eligible for entry in one of the best open songwriting contests of its kind. We wish to recognize musicians and songwriters their authentic storytelling of substance use issues. Their stories inform us, move us, and serve as catalysts for breaking down barriers, stigma and discrimination
Recovery Unplugged presents an elite level competition with a prize package of over $1,000 for contest winner including studio time. Perhaps even better for those seeking a long-term music career, the top winner is awarded with studio time in an amazing studio experience of a lifetime.
