How To Choose Glasses For Your Face

When it comes to our face, we want it to look its best. We choose the perfect beauty regimen, makeup, and hairstyle which will make us look our best. Choosing glasses can be over whelming. Here is the easiest cheat sheet on how to pick the right glasses for your face. There are general rules on face shapes and we’ll go over those but you also need to take other things into consideration. Your personality, lifestyle, personal attitude, and fashion style play a large role in what glasses you choose. You want the glasses to look great and you want to feel confident when you wear them.

Your Face Shape

There are basic rules for all face shapes, but remember these are only guidelines. You may want something more trendy, fun, or that makes you look like a powerhouse professional.

Round Face– You have full cheeks, a rounded forehead and a full chin. Square and rectangle frames are suggested to add balance to your round features.

Oval Face– This is the most versatile shape with high cheekbones and a lightly curved jawline that is a little narrower than the forehead. Square or round shaped frames to give a nice contrast to your facial curves, staying away from too large of a frame.

Square Face– You have a broad forehead with a horizontal jawline proportional in width and length. Round and oval glasses will help to add balance and add a thinner appearance to your angles.

Heart Face– You have high and angled cheekbones with a broad forehead that extends down to a small chin. Oval and round shaped glasses with curved edges will help draw attention away from a broad, high forehead and will balance the width of your face.

Diamond Face– You have wide cheekbones and a narrow forehead with angular jawlines. Cat eye glasses and oval frames will accentuate your cheekbones and delicate features because they sweep up or are wider than the cheekbones.

Your Color

Warm Skin Tone– **A yellow, bronze or golden cast to your skin is a warm complexion. The basic rule for colors for you are light tortoise, browns shades, gold or honey, beige, and olive green.**

Cool Skin Tone– **Pink or blue undertones is a cool complexion. The basic rule is to avoid colors that wash you out and instead reach for frames that are silver, black, dark tortoise, pink, purple, blue, mauve and gray.**

Your Personality

Do you keep up with fashion trends? Do you have a wild side? When picking out glasses keep your personality and your fashion style in mind. I have two pairs of glasses, one for my professional look and the other for when I am off the clock! Here are the Pantone Spring colors of 2017, maybe this will inspire you!

Your Eyes

You may want to pick a color that enhances your eye color. The most important thing about glasses is that you have your eyes checked. Many people go without eye care because they don’t have coverage.

When you enroll in a VSP Individual Vision Plan you can continue to see the doctor you know and trust, or choose from more than 37,000 network doctors. No matter who you choose, you can trust you’ll get a comprehensive eye exam.

You will be able to buy the frames you want with the hundreds you’ll save on eye exams and glasses and/or contacts for you and your family. Plans start as low as $17 a month. With a wide frame selection and high allowances, you’re sure to find the pair that’s right for you and your family. Plus, get 20% savings on a second pair of frames. Like I said I have two pairs and you can too!

What kind of glasses do you have or want?

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
