It’s Never Too Early to Think of a Stocking Stuffer

October 26, 2016 Justin Beam Leave a Comment

In the year 2016, who isn’t attached to their mobile device? An iPhone or Android? An iPad or a Kindle? Everybody has one of these things. As November approaches, you start gazing around different stores and websites and every now and again, the perfect item rears its head. This could be that perfect holiday stocking stuffer.

Let me introduce you to the Rayovac Power Protect.

This portable charger fits in the palm of your hand. If it looks simple? It’s because it is. It doesn’t even have an instruction manual. What you see is what you get. Or is it?

More than Meets the Eye…

It was quite a surprise to take out the Rayovac Power Protect and find out how many things it does. Start with a flashlight. Simply press down the power button and you have a handheld flashlight. What’s better than having a flashlight? One that doesn’t require batteries. Note the Micro-USB charger slot in the item pictured above. Simply plug that in to any USB charger and you’ll be able to power up your flashlight and your phone charger.

Now make no mistake about it. The phone charger is the star of this show. Fully charged, the Rayovac Power Protect offers you a 2,200mAh charge. I tested out the device on my drained iPhone. After plugging in the Rayovac, my phone charged to a little over 75% before the charger died. So in a pinch, the Power Protect will give you just that. A small lightweight device can easily be hidden out of sight.

We’ve talked about the flashlight and the device’s ability to charge your phone. But how about protection? Yep. It does that too. You’ll notice a black knob in the picture above. If somebody suspicious should approach you and make you feel less than safe, you can simply pull out that piece of the device. What will follow could be best described as an ear-piercing siren that could be heard up to 200 yards away. It was so loud that my dog ran under the bed (which he can barely fit under) when I kept testing out said alarm.

So whether it’s for your son whose away at college or your daughter that waits tables late at night, this item makes for a perfect inexpensive option. I’ve gotten to an age in life where most of the things I buy need to have some sort of practical purpose in my life. This item certainly fits that mold. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a teenager, middle-ager or senior citizen, you can easily make use of this device.

Before you go, check out the commercial that Rayovac put together for the Rayovac Power Protect.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
