Motorola Droid Mini – Taking Life By The Phone #VZWBuzz

So what do I mean when I say “Taking life by the phone”? To me it means not having a phone that seems to control your life, but a phone that improves your life. That is what I have experienced with my Motorola Droid from Verizon Wireless. I hope you’re ready because if you keep reading, this may just change your life forever!

I have had cell phones for over 15 years & I can’t count how many times I wished that I never got one. Why? That’s simple,  did you ever get a text message or a call in the middle of the night? Most recently it could be a 2 A.M. email, tweet, Facebook message or any one of the other thousand notifications that I get!

This is the part that is going to change your life! The Motorola Droid comes with a pre-loaded app called “Assist”! This app is truly a game changer! Motorola Assist suggests actions to automate tasks, based on how you use your device. It allows you to automatically reply to texts when you’re driving, silence your ringer during meetings, and more.

Assist is an application that provides a set of automations when you are:

• Driving

• Announces who is calling you out loud
• Reads received text messages out loud
• Resumes music playback
• Answer calls hands-free
• Prompts you for a text message quick reply for people who are calling or texting you  (“I’m driving and will get back to your soon.-sent by Motorola Assist”)

• Sleeping
  • Silences your phone
  • Turns off your notification light when the screen is off

• Meeting
  • Silences your phone
  • Sends auto-replies via text messages to missed calls from Favorite. (“I’m in a meeting. I’ll get back to your soon.-sent by Motorola Assist”)

For me this is the best thing since (excuse the corny metaphor) sliced bread! I can finally get a good night’s sleep without being woken up by some meaningless notification. During the night if someone calls you it will silence the phone, however if they call back within 5 minutes (and you have chosen this option) it will let it ring through. So in an emergency your loved ones can still get in touch with you! If you want you can even set it up to let your favorites only ring through.
