Launched by German designer Joyce Darkoh in 2013, the label is derived from her made-to-order suiting background. A graduate of Germany’s prestigious Modeschule Schloss Eller, Joyce has spent over a decade refining the art of the perfect suit, by catering to a large clientele with individual requirements. As a result, she has become one of the very rare females in a male-dominant branch of bespoke tailors and designers, who exclusively focuses on men suiting.
In response to the high demand of in-between sizes and body shapes, (which require made-to-measure services) and the request for instant product availability; Joyce collaborated with renowned patternmakers who have worked with Saville Row tailors, as well as in the garment manufacturing industry.
The outcome is a trend oriented menswear suit line; offering bespoke quality as a comparably affordable retail product. Retail price points for the suit collection range from $665 (linen) to approximately $995 (English wool).
In February 2014, DARKOH will premiere its Fall/Winter 2015 collection at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. The brand will also introduce its first ready-to-wear suit line for Fall/Winter 2015, in additional sizes, for the young generation of active men, with muscular body builds.
