London in 5 Days – Must See Places

January 19, 2016 Rachel Ferrucci Leave a Comment

You are in London and you only have 5 days to see it all. Well, unfortunately 5 days isn’t enough to see everything. So instead of listing off everything there is to do in this incredible city, we are going to reduce it to just five places—one each day—that you absolutely must fit into your trip.

You cannot go to London without stopping here. From observing the stunning architecture to getting in those must-have photos of the guards, you don’t want to head home without this experience. Yes, you will look like a total tourist, but so what? Sometimes that is all part of the fun.

Hyde Park London

Kensington Gardens LondonHyde Park and Kensington Gardens

350 acres of lush greenery in the middle of a metropolitan city is certainly a sight to behold. However, this beautiful spot in the city is more than just a walk through nature; it is also a chance to walk the same paths as many historical figures and to have the chance to learn about important moments in British history.

HarrodsHarrods

While it is the perfect spot to get in some shopping, you do not need to buy a thing to still enjoy a trip to Harrods. This legendary department store is the largest in all of Europe, with over one million square feet of shopping space and 330 different departments. The architecture of the building is also quite unique and makes for excellent photos to post on social media. While there, be sure to grab a bite to eat at one of their 32 different restaurants. While they all offer something special, their high tea is an experience to remember.

Tate Modern

The most legendary modern art gallery in the entire world, the Tate offers plenty to take in. However, one should be prepared to be shocked by some of the exhibits. On the cutting-edge of the art world, the Tate is always pushing the boundaries of what is socially acceptable and working to change the definition of art.

London Eye

Once again, embrace being a tourist. The London Eye is simply iconic and should not be passed up. In addition to all the little shops and entertainment that surround this Ferris wheel, the view from the top is unmatched and will provide you with the most stunning photos to share online with friends and family

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
