Help Your Uncontrollable Eyebrows with Clear Eyebrow Gels

September 1, 2016 Rachel Ferrucci 20 Comments

statlerfrommuppetsIf you suffer from wild eyebrows, you aren’t alone. There are many of us who struggle to keep our brows in place, even right after we had them done at the salon. So, what can you do besides shave them off ala Lady Gaga or live with the wild creatures that call your face home? Don’t look like Statler from the muppets, let me help!

Use eyebrow gels

You have probably seen these before, but they are usually advertised as a way to fill in thin brows. These gels are usually colored to help make your eyebrows more prominent or to help chase away the grays. But if your problem is wild eyebrows, more color may not be what you need.

In this case, seek out clear eyebrow gels. These gels add no color, though they may slightly darken your brows; however, this will be imperceptible to anyone besides yourself. What they do is allow you to take and shape your brows so they do not appear so wild, making it easy to get a more polished look. And if you do wear eyebrow makeup, these gels will help set it so your look lasts.

Many eyebrow gels are multi-purpose. In addition to using them on your brows, you can also use them on your eyelashes to enhance them without changing their color or lengthening them. You can even use it to tame small flyaway hairs when you style your hair for the day.

So, which clear eyebrow gel should you use?

There really isn’t that big of a difference between the expensive brands and the cheap brands, so you might as well start with whatever you can just pick up at the local drug store or super store.

NYX Control Freak sells for around $5.99

Maybelline Great Lash has a clear formula that makes an excellent eyebrow gel.

What’s your biggest eyebrow concern?

Eyebrow gels are a great way to enhance your natural brows without trying to figure out how to fill them in. I never got the hang of “doing my brows” but I love a good clear brow gel.

I have never heard of eyebrow gels! It sounds like a great way to harness those wild brows though.

I have heard of eyebrow gel but have yet to try it out myself. I think I’ll pick some up and give it a go after my next wax.

My biggest eyebrow concern is they grow too fast. A clear gel would help tame them.

Thankfully I don’t have to worry about filling in my brows. However I would love to try the clear gel to keep them in place.

It would be kind of cool to try some of these out. It might be nice having a reliable clear gel to keep the eyebrows looking sharp.

I have wild eyebrows, they are thick and flaky underneath, yikes. I’d like to try the e.l.f product for only $2 dollars, how cool is that? I could use some shape to mine.

My biggest concern is I don’t have enough eyebrow to work with. They are super thin 🙁

These are all great ideas. I used to use a clear gel on mine, but it would end up being flakey by the end of the day. I’ve gone to a pencil as of late.

Neat! I’ve never heard of an item like this before. That could be because I’m always behind on beauty stuff! haha

I never heard of this eyebrow gel before, or maybe I am just not a make up fan. But it sounds like a great product. I think a little change on my brows won’t hurt. 😉

My eyebrows are thin. My daughter is the opposite though. She’s got thick eyebrows that need constant shaping. I will recommend this clear eyebrow gels to her. I can’t believe they are so inexpensive!

These are perfect and they’re affordable as well. I have thick brows and I don’t really need more color to cover anything up, I would rather that they look groomed and perfect.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
