Get In Gear For A Road Trip With This Speedy Guide

October 3, 2016 Rachel Ferrucci Leave a Comment

Road trips are perfect for quick getaways. They’re fun for friends and great for families. You can plan them, map them, and detail every mile. Or you can meander aimlessly, exploring new places you never knew existed. All you need is a vehicle and some fuel. But can you enjoy your journey more by making some considered choices about your packing, your car, and your direction?

An RV is probably the most comfortable way to take on a road trip. Chances are you can fit in a few more personal belongings too. You’ll get further between stops for refueling. And you can stop anywhere you like for that all-important comfort break. However, choosing an RV friendly destination like the Stella Mare RV Park is probably a good idea. Those vehicles are pretty big and tricky to maneuver when you’re looking for a place to stay for a few nights.

The other benefits of having an RV include cooking your meals on board. You can make good use of the wifi connectivity for staying in touch with friends. And you can enjoy the luxury of a full bed instead of the back seat of a car. But they can be big. They take longer to get set up ready for your journey. And they just don’t feel that spontaneous when you’re looking for an escape break.

The trusty convertible has long been a symbol of the great American road trip. There is something very free and relaxed about letting the wind take your hair. While California may be the perfect State for a road trip in a convertible, most other States will leave you feeling a chill or quite damp when it rained. Many convertibles need you to stop to put the roof back up. This can be a nuisance.

Air conditioning can be absolutely essential when you’re traveling on a sunny day. You’ll also want a good sound system that hooks up with your favorite tracks on your phone or music player. GPS can help you find all those rest stops, restaurants, gas stations and tourist attractions you might be looking for. And a friend to keep you company and share the driving is essential for a truly fun road trip.

When you’re packing for a road trip, baby wipes are essential. Not all rest stops are fully functioning or even open when you need them. Pack a few snacks that won’t melt in a warm car. You’ll need a couple of bottles of water to keep you hydrated, and even some sunscreen if your vehicle isn’t tinted. Fresh clothes for a couple of days is really helpful when you’re stuck in a car for a while. Don’t forget a toothbrush and paste. Finally, make sure you have some cash. You’ll be desperate for coffee every few miles!

Road trips are fun, but they can be boring and tiring when you’re on a long stretch of highway. Keep you focus by letting fresh air in the vehicle and taking lots of breaks. And when you’re tired, pull over. Drive safe, and make your road trip memorable.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
