Breakfast Of Champions: How To Spruce Up The Morning Routine

December 23, 2016 Rachel Ferrucci 1 Comment

Many of us don’t take advantage of how a great start in the morning can have an impact on our days. Sometimes we can be guilty of hitting the snooze button a little more that we should. Only to rush and get up at the last minute. This can then have a negative impact on our days; it can be like a set of dominos all falling one after the other. So I thought I would share with you some of the ways you can change your morning routine. By making a few active changes, you may find you see a difference in your whole day. After all, they do say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. There must be truth in it.

A good morning coffee

There is nothing quite like the feeling and satisfaction you feel when having a sip of good coffee in the morning. The caffeine can really perk you up, and you can feel ready for the day ahead. Some people feel like they can’t function without that morning cup. Some people choose to enjoy it in bed, in their kitchen or even outside. However you do, make sure you savor the moment. If you are a real coffee lover than you may want to consider investing in a coffee machine. However, it’s down to the coffee you choose that can have the biggest impact on your day. Consider Robusta and Arabica beans for a strong and smooth coffee experience.

Stretch your muscles

As soon as you get out of bed, take that moment to have a good stretch. It can make a real difference to how you feel. Stretching will allow the blood to start pumping round your body and will indicate to your brain it’s time to get moving and begin your day. Your muscles may feel stiff after sleeping in a certain position all night. Don’t worry about being too energetic. Just by stretching your arms high and to the side would be great. Move your neck and head from side to side. Give yourself one last stretch up tall when you stand.

Start your day earlier

It may seem so tempting to keep pressing the snooze button on your alarm, but you are doing more harm than good. Who wants to have that horrible waking sensation over and over again? Which is in effect what you are doing when snoozing your alarm. Waking up when you first wake up is the best way. Dozing can cause you to feel groggy and less alert. Getting up earlier may give you a chance to tackle some chores, or allow you to even eat breakfast before your day starts. After all, it’s important to eat first thing. It’s worth trying it and seeing how different you feel.

Take some exercise

Taking exercise in the morning can be the perfect time to get your daily dose in. You might want to use this time to go for a run while the streets will be quiet, or put on a workout on your tv or laptop. Even just doing 20 minutes in the morning will have a positive effect on you. It will definitely aid you in feeling more alert and focused.

Get some fresh air

Finally, getting a good dose of Vitamin D in the morning is a great way to start your day. If the sun isn’t out, the fresh air will wake your senses for sure. You could use the time to drink your morning coffee outside or even just head out for a run. However you do it, make sure you get outside first thing. You will feel much more awake and ready for the day.

I hope this helps you start you jazz up your morning routine.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
