9JKL CBS A New Comedy That Delivers

Recently I was invited to a set visit for #9JKL, a comedy with an all-star cast, which airs every Monday night on CBS.

Truthfully before my set visit I hadn’t seen the show. I saw the previews and every week I would say to my husband, “We have to give that a try, looks funny!”. Since then, I not only watch it but I have my DVR set….just in case! 

I was very excited to visit the set because I’m old school and I think Linda Levin and Elliot Gould are legends. I was stoked to watch them work and interview them, I also knew of the other actors and have seen them in a few things. I’m not a huge TV person because there are very few comedies that actually make me belly laugh and there isn’t one “family” on TV that I can relate too. It seemed like the days of Roseann and Everybody Loves Raymond were long gone.

During our visit we watched the filming of an episode where Judy, played by Linda Lavin, goes to the doctor’s office. In that two minute scene, I laughed every single time they did a take. **When filming they have many takes on each scene**

While waiting for the cast, we got to watch the episode that would be airing that night. I laughed so hard, my belly hurt and my eyes were tearing. I think Mark Feuerstein has cameras in our house because this COULD be our family. I told him, if he runs out of material to give me a call….LOL

What’s 9JKL about?

Newly divorced Josh is an actor between projects who moves home to New York to regroup — and into an apartment sandwiched between his parents and his brother’s family. As he gets back on his feet, he’s faced with his most challenging role yet: being a good son and brother while keeping his relatives at bay. As they literally come at him from both sides, he realizes he desperately needs to establish some ground rules, because his loving family is always going to be there for him. “9JKL” is based on the real-life experiences of executive producer and star Mark Feuerstein.

So a guy is standing between a jew and an Italian………. This could definitely be the start of a joke
