1. Keep a schedule – A regular schedule for your meals and snacks, this can help keep your digestive system in top shape. If you find yourself too busy or forgetful, set an alarm or add it to your calendar. If you’ll be on the road, pack your lunch and snacks to go.
2. Lean meats and fiber- We all need our protein as part of a healthy diet but instead of fatty cuts of meat, choose lean cuts. Pork and skinless chicken or turkey are wise choices. Adding fiber to your diet will help foods mover through the digestion process and less constipation.
3. Hydrated- Drinking plenty of water is good for your digestive system and your overall health. Not drinking enough water can slow down your digestive system. You’ll know you’re drinking enough water when your pee is clear.
Exercise – Regular exercise speeds up your digestion, stimulates muscles in your GI tract and helps blood flow to your organs to make them work better. Your goal should be at least 30 minutes a day with walking, an elliptical trainer or swimming. *Tip- Use the stairs in your house.
Manage stress- Reduce your stress with an activity that relaxes you. Find a stress-reducing safe zone to calm yourself. This is a perfect time to take in a walk or a bath. Do this on a regular basis so your digestive system isn’t working overtime.
Just say no- Get rid of bad habits! Cigarettes and caffeine can mess-up your digestive system which can lead to other problems like ulcers.
Probiotics- I am not great at taking pills on a schedule but give me gummies and I never forget. I easily found Nature Made Dual Action Probiotic + Energy‡† B12 Gummies at Krogers (and at an affordable price). These gummies taste great and makes you feel like you’re having a treat. Probiotic naturally helps support digestive health† and Vitamin B12 supports cellular energy production†. The raspberry and cherry flavors are delicious and they contain 4 Billion probiotic cells or CFU* per serving that helps support my digestive health.

I’m so good about most of these, but water is definitely my downfall! I really need to work on that. I think I am behind the times, too, because I have not tried any probiotics yet. I will now, though, as it sounds like I am missing out!
