My very first job involved customer service and we actually had training on smiling, being courteous, and always trying to make the customer come first. Through the years as my career grew so did the my understanding of how important customer service was. When I was in corporate America I was a customer service manager of a call center with over 60 reps in three states. I shared with the reps what I learned, to give the best possible service you could. These ladies and men were on the front line, they would set the tone of how the call would go. I knew how important it was that the person calling in liked you from “Hello” and to show the caller that you really were there to help.
Many people don’t realize that customer service is a part of EVERY business and a bad experience can ruin anyone’s day. I’m sure you can name a couple places that you love to go because the person serving you is pleasant, positive and always smiling and happy. We can also name places when you left in an awful mood because of the service you received.
The worst are when you need to call a company and you have to jump through hoops to talk to someone! When you’re screaming into the phone “Customer Service!!” or banging that “zero” to get to a real person. It’s like the bots are taking over! Sometimes I want to throw the phone out the door and it was only for a simple question. I don’t want to spend 30 minutes pushing buttons to get me to the wrong department to be re-directed and put back on hold.
It’s always a pleasant surprise when I make a call and get right through. The problem is I never know. It’s a crap shoot. My last call to American Airlines was one of the best experiences I had. The rep picked right up and although my problem was big, she asked me to be patient because she wanted to make sure it was fixed. She had to put me on hold many times but because she was so pleasant I didn’t mind. She had my trust that she was working hard behind the scenes to fix my issue. The call was long, there were a couple things that I couldn’t change but I still hung up feeling satisfied that I got the best customer service.
You will never be surprised with T-Mobile because they are true Customer Service Winners!
T-Mobile launched a first of its kind customer service model, that fixes the broken way how companies handle customer care. The bot model has us frustrated and it’s been that way for decades. Those of us who are older remember the days of talking to real humans when you made a call and T-Mobile’s Team of Experts to make a winning customer service story.
Here’s how they’re doing it.
When you call or message T-Mobile, you get someone from a team that is dedicated to you and others in your city, EVERY time. Imagine that you spoke to Bob and you call back and get Bob again OR you call and talk to Joe but he is on the same team as Bob. This is unheard of, I sometimes don’t even know if I’m speaking to someone in America! There are no more bots or automated phone menus. No getting bounced around from department to department. No shouting, “CUSTOMER SERVICE!” You now have your own entourage at T-Mobile dedicated to you and your happiness. You can even see a photo of your Team of Experts in the T-Mobile App on iOS and Android.
Team of experts is customer care on YOUR terms. Real people answer the phone, answer your questions, and help you. You can even text your team in the T-Mobile app and keep the thread going at your pace. It’s as if you had a friend at T-Mobile!
AND…….. T-Mobile takes your treatment like a rock star a bit further!
T-Mobile also announced that your rock star status extends beyond the Un-carrier with upgrades at Live Nation shows and with Pandora music.
“Our customers get treated like rock stars with Team of Experts, and we believe they ought to be treated like that everywhere they go,” said Mike Sievert, President and COO at T-Mobile.
Through a new partnership with Pandora, T-Mobile customers now get exclusive access to a free Pandora Plus subscription all year long – courtesy of T-Mobile. And when your favorite artists come to town, you’ve got the magenta hookup. In another first for the Un-carrier, T-Mobile announced an exclusive multi-year partnership with Live Nation, giving Un-carrier customers rock star status at Live Nation amphitheater and arena concerts, including access to last-minute reserve seats in sold-out sections and discounted tickets. And starting next year, your T-Mobile phone will unlock more exclusive benefits just for T-Mobile customers!
