We talked about our first day at the STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI press event and how we went to Disneyland to experience the holiday magic. For me, the magic continued the following day at the actual press junket. This wasn’t your normal junket and would you expect it to be????? It IS Star Wars!!!!
These are my friends Melissa from Mom Start and Louise from Mom Start!
It started with an interview with the entire cast. You can imagine my excitement to have Mark Hamil sitting 10 feet away from me. I was one of the original Star Wars girls way back when, so this alone was enough for me to go home satisfied. I also got to have exclusive interviews with some of the cast which will be coming soon. After the interviews, an entire floor at the InterContinental Hotel & Resorts was dedicated to Star Wars. Excitement awaited around every corner. I was like a kid in a toy store.
Walking in we got to see the amazing Costume Vignettes of Leia, Luke, Kylo Ren and Rey.
Then there was the product display. Any product you can imagine that had to do with Star Wars was there, including the gigantic Porg that I needed to take a photo with!
The X-Lab Virtual Reality Demo gave me the chance to get my Jedi on! I grab my light saber and fought Kylo Ren in the hall saving the entire junket. The force was with me!
Movies Anywhere Lounge showed us how we can connect all our movies in one place and watch them anywhere.
The littleBits Display was so cool, the littlebits (Star Wars) droid inventor kit is the perfect gift for any child or adult who likes to build and has an imagination.
We got to see beautiful sketches and photographs; Disney Parks – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Sketches and Director Rian Johnson’s On-set Photography Display. I felt like an insider being able to see Rian’s personal photos. We sampled ice cream from Ample Hills and got to check out Phillips Star Wars inspired products.
There was a T-Shirt Making Station and we all got to pick our T-shirt and what character we wanted. Since I’m old school, I chose R2D2 on classic grey.
Of course there were characters for photo opps. It was a little intimidating taking pictures with Praetorian Guards but my favorite of the day was meeting BB-9E and BB-8! In a dress, I got down to sit with these droids for photos and Boomerangs.
As they spun and beeped you wanted to wrap your arms around them but we weren’t allowed to touch them.
We got to bring home lots of Star Wars swag and one of my favorites is this Porg Star Wars Episode 8 Last Jedi Sculpted Coffee Mug !
