We had such a great spa visit at Sundae Spa! I can’t say enough good things about the three girls who helped us. Their names were Pez, Rainbow Candies and Twix. These girls could not have been older than 18 and the way they worked with the girls, talked to them, played with them and just interacted with them was remarkable. We chipped in $10 each and tipped them because they were so excellent. I really got the feeling that they cared about what they were doing. Enthusiastic and fun.
The first thing we did was make lip gloss. The girls were able to choose from tons of colors, smells and shimmer/glitters to build their own lip gloss. They mixed all of the ingredients together themselves and then poured it into a lip gloss container, popped a rolling applicator on top and put a cap on. Some of the flavors they chose were jolly rancher, watermelon and mango.
Next was hair. They could choose from feathers, glittery glam strands or colorful extensions. Some of the conversations between the girls and the employees while they were doing hair were so adorable. They talked all about pets, vacations and siblings. The hair station was completed with a few spritzes of strawberry, chocolate or vanilla hair spray.
While some girls got their hair done, the others were busy getting manicures. Again, tons of colors, glitters and/or crackle overcoats to choose from. This was no 3 minute kids “mini-cure”. It started off with a hand soak with bath fizz and a hand massage with their choice of vanilla, strawberry or chocolate hand cream. They did a base coat, 2 coats of polish, glitter and a top coat. It was very thorough and meticulous.
In between the activities, the girls got to pick what kind of ice cream and toppings they wanted while the employees wrote down their orders. There were so many to choose from! Everything from Oreos and sprinkles to chocolate sauce and gummi bears. While the ice cream was being prepared, the girls rocked out a few rounds of freeze dance and musical chairs. Lots of laughs.
As if this all wasn’t enough, when we left, each child got a super awesome bath treat that looked just like a real ice cream sundae. The “ice cream” is a fizzy bath ball, the “whipped cream” is sugar scrub and the “chocolate shavings” are soap.
The spa, as a whole, was a truly impressive place. So much to do and the decor and smells make you feel like you stepped into a Willy Wonka movie. We will definitely go back!
