Simple Ways To Update Your Home

January 6, 2020 Rachel Ferrucci

It can be difficult sometimes to know what you can do to create the perfect space in your home. With fashions constantly changing and new fads arriving almost daily, it can be difficult to know where to start and feel like you’re ever going to finish. However, it’s important to remember how ‘you’ want your home and try not to think about the fashions that are out there. At the end of the day, it’s your home and it needs to feel that way. Saying that it is still nice to update your home and make it feel finished and homely; somewhere you can relax and enjoy. Updating your home doesn’t need to be complicated though, it can be quite simple and there are numerous ways that you can achieve this.

Let’s have a look at some of the simple ways you can update you below:

Adding A Feature Wall

A really simple, quick yet effective way to update your home is to add a feature wall. This works particularly well if you have plain paint or wallpaper on the other walls in the room as you only need to change the one wall each time you fancy an update. Feature walls are growing in popularity for this very reason. If you’re updating your home to resell, it might be a good idea to research which colour schemes and patterns are more favoured as a lot of potential buyers want to have a move-in ready home.

Freshening Up The Paint

Over time painted area of your home can become dull and dirty, it happens naturally because of dust and light. This means that giving the painted areas of your home a fresh coat of paint with Wooster Paint Brushes can be a really simple yet effective method for updating your home. You can even go as far as working on an up-cycled piece of furniture, painting your kitchen cupboards or painting some artwork for the walls.

Exterior Updates

When you’re thinking about your home, you shouldn’t forget about the exterior. It’s both the first and last thing that people see of your home and therefore it’s vital that you create a good impression. Think about painting your eves, it can give an old build a facelift and new lease of life. Remove any moss and debris from your roof as it can lead to blocked drains and messy floors. A nice touch is to add lighting on the outside of the home. It can either be practical for lighting up walkways or driveways or it can be for decorative purposes to highlight the style of your home whilst making it feel welcoming. Adding lights can also serve as a brilliant deterrent against burglary. Bear in mind that any electrical item you add to your home should be installed by a qualified electrician.

These are just three of the ways you can update your home, there are many others, have you tried any that have added the update that you needed to your home? Please share your tips in the comments.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
