When I plan parties, I start thinking about them months ahead of time. When planning my husband’s 40th birthday, I thought of the idea when he was 35. Planning a milestone birthday in my family is an event in itself and friends know I’ll be calling about nine months in advance. This year my husband turns 50 and I’m trying to figure out how to top his 40th. I don’t think I could out do myself…. yes it was THAT good! Topping a variety show which included friends and family acting out his favorite movie (the Blues Brothers and The Rocky Horror Picture Show), singer (Elvis), and NFL football team (Steelers) is going to be hard.
The clip here is @JKBeamer and I doing The Blues Brothers skit. Now mind you Justin had only been up here for a year so he didn’t get to enjoy ALL the Ferrucci Family’s favorite movies yet. He had never seen The Blues Brothers but put on the costume and jumped in at my request begging. Most people would be embarrassed or nervous because people are watching. Our motto is to have fun and as long as you’re having fun, who cares. What’s the worse that could happen??? It could wind up on You Tube and you would give people something to laugh about? YEP! That’s what we did, although 10 years ago we didn’t think it would wind up on You Tube. I was able to send in my old videos to Yes Video and have them transferred to DVD. (note: I’m a Yes Video ambassador and L O V E it) Today we look back and laugh every time we watch. We’re amazed at how we pulled it off without knowing the words. OH and this one we never practiced, it was an add-on the night before and we totally winged it.
The next time you stop yourself from doing something fun because of “What Ifs” remind yourself that you only live once. You need to take life by the horns, seize the moment and don’t look back, Just Do It! If you want to get up and sing that song or dance in the middle of the floor all by yourself, do it! There will always be someone cheering you on because they see how much fun you’re having.
If you can walk away from this post with two things, I’d like them to be laughter (from the video) and happiness from trying something out of your comfort zone that you’ve always wanted to do!
What is one #RememberWhen moment you can totally laugh at yourself because you did it?
If you need your videos transferred, I suggest to check out Yes Video
