CONNECTING PEOPLE, BEYOND PERFORMANCE
From sailing to major sports partnerships, Prosecco DOC shares an Italian approach to excellence with the world, bringing together places, people, and experiences.
Sport is a universal language that crosses borders and cultures. Achievement, passion, shared experiences, and the drive to push beyond our limits bring people and communities together.
Competing means preparing thoroughly, making sound decisions, trusting expertise, adapting to conditions, and always looking one step ahead. These values are central to sport and closely reflect the winemaking culture behind Prosecco DOC.
This shared outlook guides the denomination’s involvement in sport. Its partnerships go beyond visibility, offering opportunities to share its identity and values on major national and international stages.
A course connects places. People give it meaning.
Over the years, the partnership between the Consortium and the 90-foot racing yacht Shockwave³ has grown far beyond a name on a sail. It has become a platform for shared experiences, relationships, and storytelling.
The relationship between the Prosecco DOC Consortium and the maxi yacht has developed around shared values: energy, a commitment to excellence, strong regional ties, and a forward-looking mindset grounded in tradition. Together, these qualities have made Prosecco DOC Shockwave³ an ambassador for the culture and tourism of northeastern Italy.
The project brings together different worlds united by a pursuit of quality: local culture, technology and innovation, athletic preparation, professional expertise, and teamwork. All play a role in an environment where precision and adaptability can make the difference.
This is what Connecting People means: a boat that serves both as a racing yacht and as a meeting place, bringing people and businesses together through shared experiences and a common purpose.

To finish first, first you have to finish: performance begins long before the race
This vision has taken shape year after year, race after race, through participation in national and international events in remarkable settings.
Venice has been a central destination, often reached by competing in the Trieste–Venice race before taking part in the Veleziana and the Venice Hospitality Challenge. In the Gulf of Trieste, the yacht has competed in the Trofeo Bernetti and joined the extraordinary sea of sails that makes the Barcolana unique.
The nighttime Trieste–San Giovanni in Pelago–Trieste race and the Fiumanka have strengthened connections with neighboring regions, while the Tyrrhenian Sea has provided the setting for the Tre Golfi and Palermo–Montecarlo races.
In 2026, this commitment delivered major racing achievements.
At the 40th Brindisi–Corfu International Regatta, PROSECCO DOC Shockwave³ took line honors—crossing the finish line first—and set a new outright race record. The yacht covered 104 nautical miles in 6 hours, 23 minutes, and 57 seconds, breaking a record that had stood for 21 years.
A few weeks later, the maxi yacht made its debut in the AEGEAN 600, one of the Mediterranean’s most demanding and spectacular offshore races. The 605-nautical-mile course winds through the Aegean Sea, starting and finishing at Cape Sounion, in conditions that test both crews and boats. Prosecco DOC Shockwave³ again took line honors after a closely fought race, finishing just 2 minutes and 9 seconds ahead of Aiolos.
In a race of more than 600 nautical miles, speed alone is not enough. Success requires reliability, clear thinking, and the ability to weigh risk against reward, mile after mile. These results reflect everything that makes strong performance possible: preparation, innovation, expertise, teamwork, and the sustained effort required to build a competitive racing program.

Bringing sport and brand experiences together
The maxi yacht also offers a place to experience Prosecco DOC, share memorable moments, and build relationships that extend beyond racing.
It brings different passions together, as demonstrated over the years by Maxi On Cooking Star. Combining fine dining with the spirit of competition, the event has brought Michelin-starred chefs to the helm of impressive maxi yachts before challenging them to compete in the kitchen.
Every race creates opportunities to meet.
Every port becomes a place to connect.
Every event opens the door to new audiences, places, and cultures.
Through this approach, sports partnerships build lasting recognition, a sense of belonging, and meaningful connections.
A course may link distant points on a chart, but it is the people along the way who give the journey meaning.
The journey continues. So do the connections.
Beyond the Mediterranean races, attention is already turning to Naples in 2027, when Italy will host the Louis Vuitton Cup and the America’s Cup Match for the first time. It is a new opportunity to bring sport, local culture, people, and experiences together.
Connecting People, beyond performance.
