PLAY-DOH Town collection- Water Canon, Dog Poop, Rainbow Brains, and Cute Bunnies

July 26, 2016 Rachel Ferrucci 20 Comments

kids and play doh“This post was sponsored by the PLAY-DOH brand from HASBRO as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.”

Sharing the classic toys and games you played as kids with your children fill a special place in your heart. It’s because we also get to reminisce our younger years. One of my favorite things to do was to pretend cook with my PLAY-DOH cans. My specialty back then was “chop meat”. I’m still not sure where I came up with that but I could remember telling my mom that’s what I was making.

In celebration of its 60th birthday, the PLAY-DOH brand released a new line, PLAY-DOH Town with entirely new colorful, creatable, and makeable adventures. I think I was more excited to play with this iconic childhood staple than my princes to sit and start playing! Each PLAY-DOH Town comes with customizable figures with town themed buildings and vehicles. I was ready to start building our town and to create a story that would be picture perfect. Then again I forgot I was playing with boys. I dumped the PLAY-DOH cans and started putting together the town thinking the boys would sit and wait for me to organize everything. The boys had a different idea, as soon as they got their fingers into this smushy goodness, there was PLAY-DOH compound everywhere. All I could do was join in (after getting my buildings up of course). I tried again to get a little organization in and this time I went through each building and press to show them the different things we could make. This is when their imaginations kicked in full gear! That’s full “boy gear”!

PLAY-DOH TOWN FIREHOUSE Playset (Ages 3 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $19.99)

We pressed lots of fire. The flames were super cool and we needed a lot! We only put out some of the fires because we had to be able to cook too! (makes perfect sense)

Prince worked on the Firehouse and little prince took over the Pet Shop. When I was young, I remember making dinners, hair styles, flowers, and everything pretty. The boys thought it was totally awesome to make rainbow colored brains. When building a brain, you must take your time and use ever color. (makes perfect sense)

Making pretend ice cream goes along with pretend names- like flavor dogawaga (ewww)kids and play dohWe also started operating on the brains and little pets made of PLAY-DOH compound would come visit and little prince’s favorite figure was the fire dog that he could make poop. That’s right the fire dog pooped….blue! (insert giggles!!)

PLAY-DOH TOWN ICE CREAM TRUCK Playset (Ages 3 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $14.99)

The patient also needed ice cream (from the ice cream truck), so when I showed the boys my perfect pressed ice cream, they thought it was so cool.

They were so surprised of all the different presses and we then needed to make two of each one (which were a lot). Thankfully each town came with plenty of PLAY-DOH cans. We created fire scenes and put it out with red, orange, and green water shooting out of the water cannon and hydrant. We had crazy hair styles and our fire person has a mohawk! kids and play doh

The 60th birthday celebrations will culminate on World PLAY-DOH Day on September 16. This is the perfect day to pick up a playset or can of compound and squish, mold, and explore the fun sculpting possibilities! The PLAY-DOH brand is opened the gates to an entirely new world of play with PLAY-DOH Town!

PLAY-DOH TOWN PET STORE Playset (Ages 3 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $14.99)

kids and play dohLittle prince stamped out pets using molds from around the store including hamsters, birds, fish and bunnies. We must have made 100 bunnies and hamsters. We may not have built a town but we used our imagination and had an adventurous night! We loved all the PLAY-DOH town playsets and figures and you can build your town too!

Collect them all!

PLAY-DOH TOWN Figure Assortment (Ages 3 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $5.99)  Meet some new friends in PLAY-DOH Town! This assortment includes police and ice-cream themed figures. With the ICE CREAM figure, kids can help mold scoops of PLAY-DOH ice cream, and can use the half molds to add colorful toppings before serving them up in the cone. To gear the POLICE figure up for a day on the job, kids can put the POLICE figure’s hat onto his head, pressing out crazy colorful facial hair. The radio also doubles as a cutting tool to help slice through any PLAY-DOH obstacle! Both the ICE CREAM and POLICE figure can be teamed up with the ICE CREAM TRUCK set and the POLICE MOTORCYCLE set (both sold separately). Additional figures for painter, doctor, ballerina and fisherman will join the line in the fall.

My youngest son has sensory issues, so Play-Doh has been a big part of our lives for years now. We love it.

I always loved the new cans of playdoh because when they colors mix together and become inseperable, that attacks my OCD. I can’t handle it! Great idea with the paper on the table. I always use saran wrap to peel up and toss.

I grew up with Play-Doh as well and I really see it as part of anyone’s childhood. I really like their recent sets and offerings, still the very same idea but they never run out of varieties and designs!

Why did no one warn us that menopause would turn our bodies into a crime scene… Dryness. Pain. Sneezing roulette. UTIs showing up uninvited. And doctors smiling politely and saying, “That’s just aging.” Cool. Love that for us.

Say Hello to Silky Peach Cream 🍑 A bioidentical estriol cream that works locally to rebuild thinning tissue, restore moisture, and bring back comfort where it actually matters. Not a Band-Aid. Not a $350 prescription. Not a lube that disappears by lunchtime.

Estriol is the gentlest form of estrogen our bodies naturally make, and Silky Peach Cream puts it back exactly where menopause took it away. Over time, tissue rebuilds, moisture returns, and suddenly intimacy doesn’t feel like sandpaper and regret.

Two pumps nightly. Then maintenance. Because it took years to get this dry… it’s okay if it takes a little time to feel normal again.

I’m done whispering about menopause. I got my life back. And my peach is happy again!

I didn’t expect this to be the hardest part of getting older.

If sex hurts. If you avoid intimacy. If you dread wiping.

It’s not “just dryness.” It’s estrogen loss. And yes, it’s fixable.

Menopause doesn’t ease in quietly. It shows up hot, uncomfortable, and disruptive. And for way too long, women are told to whisper about it or accept it as “just aging.” I’m done with that.

Silky Peach Cream helped restore moisture, rebuild thinning tissue, and bring back comfort where menopause took it away. Not a quick fix. Not a Band-Aid. Just real, gradual relief that made me feel like myself again.

Two pumps. Some patience. And a lot less suffering.

Stop whispering about menopause. You deserve relief. You deserve joy. Your peach deserves to be happy again.

Get the details and try it for yourself at the link in my bio.

In paid partnership with #NoPainPact and with the support of #VoicesforNonOpioidChoices.

When I found out I needed surgery, my 1st thought wasn’t the procedure. It was the fear of being handed opioids again with no real choice. After my last surgery, opioids were the only option I had, my insurance didn’t cover the non-opioid alternatives I specifically asked for. That showed me how quickly exposure can happen. Many people don’t realize that about 1 in 10 patients who receive opioids after surgery will struggle with long-term use. That’s nearly 4 million people per year. It’s no secret that opioids can lead to addiction, & we should be much louder about the fact that there are non opioid options that can be used during surgery to manage pain afterwards.
Medicare already recognizes this & separately reimburses for FDA-approved non-opioid pain treatments, proving these options are real & available. Yet insurance barriers often make them difficult or impossible to access. Instead of making decisions about my recovery with my doctor, insurance policy made them for me. As I prepare for my next surgery, I want access to every option that reduces my exposure. I know how easily things can escalate. I’ve seen opioid use continue far longer than intended. It can tear apart families before anyone realizes what’s happening. What starts as short-term pain management after surgery becomes something no one ever expected, simply because safer options were never offered. It’s frustrating that some major insurers still haven’t expanded coverage the way Medicare has. #UnitedHealthcare is one of the companies whose restrictions make it harder to access FDA-approved non-opioid surgical pain options. Because of their size, these decisions affect millions. Surgery shouldn’t be a gateway to opioid addiction. Medicare covers these options. UnitedHealthcare & others need to do the same so patients aren’t pushed toward opioids by outdated policies. Patients & families deserve better.
