Girls Trip Ideas
Looking for Girl’s Trip Ideas this Summer? We have created a list of some great ideas for you and your friends to travel this summer. Summer is the perfect time for a little getaway with your girlfriends. Life gets busy as we try to juggle careers and family and personal time, but nothing beats a girl’s weekend or even a girl’s week. Often, weeks or even months go by without quality time with friends, especially if you all live in different cities. Three of my girlfriends and I like to schedule a mandatory girl’s vacation every year. This way we know no matter how hectic life gets, we have at least one weekend in the year to really look forward to that is just ours. It’s all about us with none of life’s interruptions. One of the key things we do to make it happen is we plan in advance.
The first thing to do is pick a time and place. It can be as simple as a trip to a local bed and breakfast or a luxurious spa stay. Or, if it’s in everyone’s budget, traveling to somewhere new can be a fun adventure, too. Check for times of year that are best for everyone, but also a vacation that will be a fit everyone’s budget. Throw out ideas and then narrow the choices down to one or two places.
Think about what you all like to do on your vacation. Is it to simply relax? Do you want to explore a new city? Is there a special event going on that you’d like to plan your trip around? Let everyone choose one or two things that are on their “must-do” list so that it can be a good mix of what everyone wants.
Make the trip extra special by creating souvenirs of your own. Whether that involves silly T-shirts, a towel with the place and date or a toast with bottles of wine with etching that can commemorate the date on the bottles, create a little something to make it even more fun.
Girl’s Trip Ideas with Guaranteed Fun:
Vegas
Yes, your early 20s might be behind you, but Vegas can still be a fun time without having to involve being sardine-packed into a club taking shots. Share the cost of a fancy suite and enjoy time spent at the pool. Take in a show and go to a nice dinner. Drinks can still be on the agenda, but it doesn’t have to be the only thing. There is still a lot to do in Sin City without it reaching “Hangover” status.
Beach Vacation
Hit your nearest beach and enjoy some time in the sand and sun. San Diego, Key West, or Panama City are all beautiful cities that are ideal for a bit of rest and relaxation. If you’re from the east coast you can head out to the North Fork and visit the wineries or you can even go to the Hamptons where there are beaches and little restaurants and shops you can visit. No matter where you decide to visit, you can soak up the beach scene by enjoying a dinner cruise on a boat or taking a walk where you can see the beautiful sunset on the pier. Whatever location you decide on, being near the ocean usually makes for a good time.
Wine Country
Napa is a gorgeous destination tailor-made for a girls vacation, but if Northern California is too far for your group, research wineries closer to you. Many smaller wineries offer free tastings or special events that include live music or pairings with cheese or chocolate. Another great place to check out wineries on the east coast are the wineries on the North Fork. Pindar Wine is one of the well known brand of wines that comes from Long Island.
Visit a New City
Choose a new city – one that you and your friends have never been to. Nothing is better than discovering a new city and soaking up the culture, food, and lifestyle that it has to offer. Which cities are on your travel bucket lists? Pick one that peaks your interest and then plan according to the different things people want to do and see. You can visit a major city such as New York City or Chicago or a smaller place like Rhode Island – where there is a lot to do including visiting the mansions, hanging out on the beach and shopping in town. What ever city you choose – you will be with your friends, making it that much more fun!!
When it comes to planning the perfect girls vacation make it a special event! It probably doesn’t happen that often, so when it does really go all out. A vacation doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank either. There are ways to save and cut costs, especially if you only plan one vacation a year. Plan ahead of time and snag travel deals or packages can help keep costs low. Plus, when you’re splitting rental car fees, hotel rooms, and other expenses, it makes it more budget-friendly.
Vacationing with your girlfriends is a good way to bond even if schedules don’t allow for time together as consistently as you’d like. Value your time on vacation and cherish the fun memories that a vacay away can bring. My girlfriends and I have had yearly trips together for the past five years and the splurges were worth it to be with my friends without all the day-to-day things that can weigh us down. Bring along an instant camera to preserve physical memories of your vacation forever in a nostalgic way. Also remember to turn off the cell phones for a bit if possible – it’s so nice to have uninterrupted time with friends.
