Our little ones are always going to be special, even when they grow big and tall! Each passing year, they get bigger and bigger and we’ve got to cater for them with each arriving birthday.
And of course, the bigger the family, the more planning that has to be done for the extra birthdays. The more the merrier?
Planning birthdays can get especially stressful as you feel the whole weight of the world is on your shoulders to give your kids the time of their life, so worry not – here’s how you can do that.
Firstly, think about the day. What would the birthday boy or girl like to do? They should give you plenty of ideas and if not, get to know them more! If they like animals, they will love a trip to the zoo or a marine life centre. If they like video games, why not allow them to have some friends around for some multiplayer action? If they love food, show them a few restaurants. If you get to know what the lucky kid wants to do, if you know their likes, interests and hobbies, then arranging a birthday should be a piece of cake!
Of course they might want a little party! A birthday party is a whole different thing. You need to get plates, cakes, cups, bunting, banners and other little items to ensure everyone is entertained. Hiring a bouncy castle or a trampoline can go a long way to ensuring all the kids that arrive have something to do and a place to get rid of their never ending bags of energy.
There are also the gifts to think of as well. This is where your knowledge of your birthday girl or boy comes in really handy! You’ve also got a budget as well, so if they like fairytales, then they are not going to get their desired fairytale castle – not this year, anyway! There are plenty of good gifts you can buy if you’re stuck for ideas, refer to this blog post. It doesn’t have to be just toys and games, you can get books and other gifts! Just know what your kid is into and what they enjoy and try to get them a gift that really reflects them.
Do you buy one big gift, or several smaller gifts? Well, it is completely up to you. You know your child best, right? Does the big gift seem a better purchase? If yes, get it! It all really does depend on what your children like and it’s all circumstantial. You simply need to choose the option that you believe is best backed up by your knowledge.
When done right, kid’s birthdays are never going to be forgotten and it is your job to make sure that they do just that! Plan well, learn more about your children and ensure that their special day is packed full of activities relevant to them and based around exactly what they love to do. If you pull it off right, you might have more fun than you realized!
