Summer is coming to an end and fall is approaching. This is when the weather here in New England struggles between warm and cool temperatures. One day you’re on the beach in a bathing suit and the next day you are searching for your warmest sweatshirt. We call it “The Change” and this normally means that colds and the flu will be passed around like a hot potato. Doctors are booked with sick visits and everyone trying to rush in to get their flu shots and you’re very lucky if you’re able to get in. PhysicianOne Urgent Care makes it easy to be seen because they have extended hours that fit our schedule. The last place you want to go is to the Emergency Room for a non-life threatening injury or illness. You not only are taking a spot for a real emergency but your wait will be hours and it’s costly! The average ER visit can cost at least $750 for treatment (after the initial co-pay), while the exact same treatment at PhysicianOne Urgent Care is closer to $150.
PhysicianOne Urgent Care centers provide high-quality, convenient, and accessible healthcare and is the best alternative for all ages (infants to elderly) when you can’t get in to see your own doctor. They offers X-ray, lab, IV services and flu shots every day, no appointment necessary and almost all insurances are accepted.
You can also schedule your child’s sports physical! PhysicianOne Urgent Care is running a promotion for $35 until September 15th
PhysicianOne Urgent Care are for all ages (Babies to Elderly)
PhysicianOne Urgent Care is an Affiliate of Yale New Haven Health and they are located conveniently throughout CT. My closest PhysicianOne Urgent Care is on Dixwell Ave. in Hamden. Although they are not open 24 hours, they are open 365 days per year, including Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day.
If you have any concerns about whether or not you can be treated at a PhysicianOne Urgent Care center, you can always call 855.349.2828
When should you visit an urgent care center?
You should visit an urgent care center when you need medical attention for an acute illness or injury. An acute condition is an ailment or injury that requires attention, but isn’t quite severe enough for a trip to the emergency room (if your primary care doctor is unavailable).
About PhysicianOne Urgent Care:
PhysicianOne Urgent Care was founded in 2008 in Southbury, CT by three Emergency Room doctors who saw a need for better access to non-life threatening injuries and illnesses. Dr. Jeannie Kenkare (co-founder) remains our Chief Medical Officer today. Dr. Kenkare treated many patients in the ER for conditions that she felt could be treated outside the ER, at a fraction of the cost and in much less time than it would take to be treated in the Emergency Room.
Their mission in 2008 remains the same “To provide uncompromising, convenient care with a team of friendly and compassionate professionals that treats each patient with the kindness and respect they deserve.” For more info about PhysicianOne Urgent Care click here.
