Ladies, we all love the summer. There is nothing better than donning our favorite dresses and turning heads as we walk down the street. Well, that is the dream. In reality, we aren’t always ready to catch a guy’s eye, especially if we’re a sweaty mess! No one likes to admit, but perspiration can get the better of us when the mercury starts to rise. The good news is that it doesn’t have to any longer with a few simple fashion tips.
Here’s how not to become a sticky mess this summer.
Loose Clothes
Tight clothes have their benefits. Let’s face it – that little black dress doesn’t wear itself. But in the summer, fitted items only feel hotter. It’s because there is no draft to cool us down, plus the sweat doesn’t evaporate effectively to regulate the body’s temperature. Yep, it’s all very scientific. Instead, loose-fitting women’s dresses, sundresses and beach dresses have the opposite effect. Because they don’t cling to the frame, they make us feel cooler when we’re out and about. So, ditch the shorts and maxi dress because they only make things worse and opt for a sundress.
Natural Fabrics
Okay, so all fabrics are curated in a lab somewhere for our benefit. Still, some do occur naturally, like cotton, and perform better in hot weather. Nylon or polystyrene is a lot less breathable simple because it’s man made. At least, that’s what the boffins in the research centers think. Another plus point of natural fabrics is that they better absorb sweat and dry quicker. As a result, you won’t feel as clammy or disgusting even if you do start to perspire. After all, ladies, we are only human, so ceasing to sweat is impossible.
Heat Resistant Colors
Did you ever listen in science class? If you did, you should know that certain colors reflect heat, and others absorb its rays. Black, matted colors are the worse offenders because they soak up ultraviolet rays like a sponge. So, if you like wearing dark hues, you’re in for a sweltering summer! Light colors, on the other hand, reflect the rays away, making cooler and more bearable. It’s a simple rule, but sticking to light shades is as effective as any other option. Plus, you’ll look far more summery and fashionable. That’s two birds with one stone.
Clean Clothes
Anyone that isn’t a complete liar will admit that they don’t wear one item and throw it in the washing machine. After all, rewearing clothes is an excellent way to make outfits last longer, as well as cut down on laundry costs. The issue with over wearing clothes is what you leave behind. The first time you put something on, the fabric takes on dead skin cells, dirt and sweat. Apart from being nauseating, these cells also clog up the fabric and make the garments hotter to wear. There’s no need to wash clothes after one time, but don’t go on a run.
And there you have it. Thanks to these tips, you can enjoy summer without worrying about evaporating into a pool of water!
