Did you get that musical reference in the title there? It’s a line from one of the most famous Broadway musicals about sailors coming home from war. The most recent incarnation of the show actually just closed last year and was another great success. But don’t let that deter you from visiting New York. If you love musicals, there are plenty left to see, and that’s just the start of what the big apple has to offer. But since I’ve already mentioned it, let’s start with the big one. Broadway!
Catch A Broadway Show
Whether you fancy a trip into America’s untold past, a scathing look at Mormon beliefs or a chance to fly on a magic carpet Broadway is the place to be. With such a variety of shows right now, it’s the perfect time to catch a plane to New York and see one for yourself. The most popular show on Broadway right now is Hamilton. It’s difficult to get Broadway show tickets unless you book far in advance but not impossible. For the naughtier crowds, the Book Of Mormon has some crowd treats including the delightful song I Believe. If you’re traveling with family, you need to see Aladdin. Robin Williams may have tragically passed on, but the Genie is still alive and well on the Broadway stage.
Visit The Sites
You can’t go to New York without visiting some of the most famous sites. These include the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and Brooklyn Bridge. You can buy a complete tour of the city for a few hundred. Or, if you want to be a little more adventurous, book a helicopter flight. You’ll swoop low over the city, getting a bird’s eye view of all the must see areas. It’s certainly quicker and an experience that you’ll never forget. You even get to fly over Yankee Stadium.
After that, you can head down to Central Park. There, you’ll be able to take a horse-drawn carriage or bicycle ride around the park. You can spot famous pop culture locations such as the fountain from the Friends opening.

Finally, you can spend a day shopping till you drop on Fifth Avenue. You’ll find all your favorite stores here and others that don’t exist anywhere else in the world. Beware, for more expensive stores you might have to flash a card or two as you walk through the door. Many also expect you to buy at least one item if you enter, you’ve been warned. For kids, there’s a massive Disney
Store as well as an M&M factory.
