My whole life my hair as been sort of curly, sort of wavy, sort of frizzy… basically a hot mess. One side of my head is wavy while the other side, in only one part forms these much tighter waves/curls, needless to say, straightening my hair is never easy. It always requires lots of blow drying and an iron.

First I washed my hair with Aveda Smooth Infusion Shampoo and followed with Aveda Smooth Infusion Conditioner. These products had an almost grapefruit smell, light and citrus-y. After showering I first applied the Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother, working it from the mid-section to the ends of my hair as directed. I brushed it through and then applied Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight using the same application process, only this time I did it in small sections.
Now, although my mom was a hairdresser, I don’t do blowouts, I just can’t, even though that is what gives you the best results. Luckily with this product I didn’t need to. I flipped my head over, blew dry the bottom half of my head and flipped to finish off the top. I touched up some parts with my straightener after and was in LOVE. My hair tends to still get this awful bit of wave right at my root, which always takes work to get out. This time… it was GONE, and that was just after five uses. My hair was shiny and it wasn’t weighed down at all, which surprised me. It felt light and still flowed like there was no product in it at all.
What really amazed me wasn’t day one, it was day two. I never wash my hair two days in a row, even though anytime I use product in my hair, my hair gets greasy at the roots the next day. This product lasted through the next day. I woke up and my roots weren’t matted down or greasy at all. I just touched up the ends of my hair with the straightener and walked out the door.
Now THAT is straightening magic. I can’t wait to see how my hair looks in a month!
