We met when I was a teenager, looking back at us now, we were mere babies. We were wild and crazy and there wasn’t anyone or anything that could stop us. We knew we were in this for a lifetime!
Over the years we learned how to make a marriage grow and we fell more in love with each passing day. When times got rough we fought through and came out champions.
You’ve stood behind me on every one of my crazy ideas. You let me cry on your shoulder when they didn’t work out and would be back in the front row to cheer me on for my next venture. You worked hard to support our family, sometimes working two and three jobs so we could have it all. You made trips to get ice cream seem like it was Disney World. You made being a husband and father look so easy to do even when life wasn’t kind.
When our life was busy with dancing, softball, pom poms, basketball, and every other activity, you made sure to make time for just us.
We watched our family grow and we now get to enjoy our prince! We became empty nesters and it was as if we didn’t miss a beat.
Over two and a half decades later and you still:
Make me laugh until I can’t catch my breath
Take me for walks on the beach and make it feel like it’s our first walk
Dance with me in kitchen (even when I’m pretending to be Olivia)
Make the best coffee in the morning
My front row cheerleader
Take me for rides, having no place to go but making it an adventure
Make me blush
I couldn’t imagine my life without you! I can say without a doubt, I married my best friend. You know and love every detail about me, good and bad. You show me you love me every day and I know I’m the luckiest woman in the world to have found you.
Only you would go out into a hurricane so I can have a good story for my blog.
Only you would go on a mile hike barefoot over crushed shells so I can take a picture of a lighthouse.
Only you would go pool hopping with me because I wanted to take a dip
Only you would walk around the house with me to find the perfect spot to take a picture for my post
I can go on forever sharing the things you’ve done for me, unselfishly, doing it just to make me happy. All these years later and I can look from the day we met until today and I’m thankful for what life gave me. I love you more than words can ever say! Happy anniversary to my knight in shining armor!
Forever Yours,
Rachel

I often think of myself as jaded but this post made me feel weepy. In a good way, positive that it’s not too silly or late for love. Happy anniversary!
