When I was a child, I would spend almost every day with my grandparents. I would spend a large part of my day following my grandfather through the garden. I would watch as he inspected every plant for signs of insect damage or just to make sure there wasn’t any weeds growing among his vegetables. I would pick up potatoes as he dug them or I would crawl inside the rows of beans that he grew to pick the inside while he picked the outside. There were many times that I just ran around & jumped over the plants like an obstacle course.
Many afternoons I would spend with my grandmother. I would watch her quilt or sew clothing that was in need of repair. We spent countless afternoons playing board games. We would play Scrabble for hours, or we would play Bingo. When I got a little older she would let me come with her to play at the bingo hall. It was a lot of fun. As she got older we stopped going but I still love to play at Gala Bingo. I will never forget all the great times we had gardening, playing, fishing & simply just living!
