I have shared my Marvel Spider-Man Homecoming Set Visit and The Spider-Man Homecoming press junket in NYC. Now it’s about time to talk to you about the movie. Let’s be clear that I have known Spider-Man for a very long time. My love for Spider-Man started in 1977 when I watched faithfully every week as Peter Parker saved NYC. Tobey Maguire came on the scene as Spider-Man in the movies giving us the famous upside down kiss with Kirsten Dunst, it was then followed by Andrew Garfield and now there’s a new boy in town… Tom Holland. Tom gives us a more in depth look at Spider-Man.
In Spider-Man Homecoming we learn how Peter’s suit evolved, we learn about the awkward boy who is afraid to talk to girls, and he shows us that it doesn’t matter who you are as a teenager, you can still make dumb choices. Aunt May is much more realistic as a younger “hot” aunt who is more likely the same age as Peter’s mom. Ned, Peter’s best friend finds out who Tom really is and wants to tell the world and is even more excited when he finds out that Peter is friends with Tony Stark/ Ironman. Then again who wouldn’t be excited about The Avengers!
Peter wants to prove himself to Tony Stark and doesn’t listen. He goes off to fight the villain, Vulture on his own and nearly gets killed. There is a HUGE twist but I won’t give the spoiler here. If you want the spoiler, you can comment or message me I’ll tell you but I will say this…… It’s definitely an O-M-G moment. Spider-Man Homecoming is action packed and will make you fall in love all over again with Spider-Man!
As a traveler I love to find places where movies were filmed and there are so many cool spots in NYC and DC that will be familiar to you but one of the iconic landmarks is the Staten Island Ferry. There are also a ton of Easter Eggs in the film that tie into all the other Marvel films but a few of my favorite are:
- Bruce Banner picture in Peter’s class
- The Ferris Bueller run and seeing it playing
- When Vulture, played by Michael Keaton, has a shot in front of the moon (Like Batman)
There are many many more and I plan on watching to see if I can find them all. What ones have you found?

I was invited on an all-expense paid media trip in honor of Spider-Man Homecoming from Marvel and Sony. All opinions are my own.
