I love the convenience of disposable diapers, but I dislike the cost. My 18 month old daughter doesn’t seem to like them at all. Our choice is to try the transition to cloth diapers. I am a late starter on the cloth diaper market but I looked at my daughters red bum and my wallet and decided “What the Heck” lets try it. So I ordered my first set of diapers off Zulily.com (Got lucky, found them for 50% off) and I am now anxiously awaiting their arrival to make the switch.
I will admit at this moment I have NO idea what I am doing with cloth diapers, I am hoping this will not be a disaster and be a smooth transition. I am a little nervous about making this change. So many questions swirling around in my head.
Did I order the right type of diapers?
Did I order enough?
Do I need more stuff?
Will her pants size change? Oh no, will I need to buy more clothes now?
Do I need all these different gadgets I see?
I read some other blogs but I still get confused, most of the sites feature newborns not toddlers…. So hopefully my journey with Lily will help other Mom’s trying to make this transition. Wish me luck!! And if you have answers to any of these questions, share the advice!!! I love to hear it!

We’re on our second kid in cloth diapers and wouldn’t even consider disposables now!

Yvonne, thanks for the comment! Any tips to avoid leaks? That is my biggest problem so far. My daughter seems to love wearing them!

What kind do you use? We have pocket diapers and use two liners when they get that big. Also, did you wash them before using them? You are supposed to run them through the wash 5-6 times before using to get rid of any new fabric residues that may cause leaks.

After seeing several of my friends successfully use cloth diapers with their kids, it makes me wish that I could have a do-over with my own. I can’t even begin to imagine the money I would have saved.

I wish I would have used cloth diapers with my kids. Its one of those things. . “If only I had known then what I know now”. From what I am learning cloth diapers are so much better for our kids.
