Got a day without the kids? If your partner is away as well, you might wonder what you can do with all this spare time! You won’t have to look after anyone and will be able to do anything you want at all. The choice can be overwhelming, so there is no wonder that so many dads end up spending their child-free day in front of the TV. But that’s no way to get the most out of your day! Still struggling to decide what to do? Here are some of our favorite ideas.
Get The Guys Around
Why not invite all your buddies around? If you all have families now, you may find that you struggle to find any time to hang out together anymore. Now that you have the house to yourself, you will have plenty of space to have everyone over. If there is a football game on TV, get some beers and snacks in and enjoy the game together. Do you all enjoy gaming? Then why not get your PS4 out and set up a tournament between you and your buddies. Make sure you have all the important accessories so that your gaming experience is enhanced. You can check them out here.
Enjoy A Workout Session
Many men find it difficult to fit in workout sessions at the gym as soon as they have kids. After all, they will be working all day and will then need to head straight home to look after the children. Does this sound like your regular routine nowadays? Well, now that you don’t have the kids for one day, why not treat yourself to a session in the gym. If you aren’t a member at your local gym anymore, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy a workout. Why not just go for a job around your neighborhood? You can even workout in your own home. All you need are a few weights to work on your strength training.
Do Little Jobs Around The House
Unfortunately, all those little DIY jobs that you have meant to do around the house aren’t going to do themselves! And as you have the house to yourself for one day, why not use this to your advantage?! You won’t have the kids getting in the way and potentially hurting themselves on your tools and equipment. You also won’t have to deal with your partner nagging you about how she wants the job done! So what are you waiting for? Do all these little DIY jobs, and then you won’t have to worry about them again.
Surprise Your Partner
Why not use this spare time to plan something sweet for your partner? You might like to take the time to prepare her and the kids a special home cooked meal. She’ll be happily surprised when she gets back to find that she doesn’t have to cook! You could also be romantic and leave some small gifts around the house in places that you know she will find them!
