The fall is almost over and winter is barreling in along with scarves, hats, boots, and anything to keep us warm. This is the time we should be thinking about where to go so we can feel the warmth of the sun and escape old man winter. The holidays get me through December keeping me very busy but then comes the very long month of January or as I say JanuGetaway because all I want to do is get away!
In September we took a trip to Key West to celebrate a half-century. The big 5-0 for hubby was more like two teenagers celebrating their high school graduation. It was amazing so guess where I’m recommending you go. When going to Key West you don’t have to pack much but having the right clothes and accessories will make all the difference.
Here are our Key West or JanuGetaway Fashion Must-Haves:
Sundress – For dinner when you go where shorts don’t meet the dress code
Floppy Hat – You’ll use this when on the beach
Flip Flops – One beach pair and a pair with a little sparkle for dinner (leave your heels home- this isn’t Miami)
Sun Glasses – Make sure it’s a good pair that blocks UV light, the sun is strong here. The Hobie sunglasses not only protect but they look fabulous
Watches by RumbaTime – This is for looks only, you won’t be checking the time. The RumbaTime watches give that beach feel and the colors will compliment whatever you have on.
Bathing Suit– If you wear a two-piece be sure to also bring a one piece for when you participate in water sports unless you don’t mind everyone seeing what your mama gave ya.
Cover-up– You may want to walk ten feet to get lunch so a cover-up is great to throw on over your bathing suit and be ready
Waterproof Clutch by RumbaTime – I like to have my credit cards, license, and phone with me. The RumbaTime clutch is small enough to call a clutch but large enough to fit your phone and other small items. The best part about this is it’s rubber so if you have it by your side it can get sandy or even a little wet and your items stay dry. It’s NOT waterproof it does have a zipper so don’t get confused
