As you know, it’s the beginning of the year, and you only have a few months until the weather starts getting hotter and the sun makes an appearance, so what better time than ever to boost up that confidence so you can enjoy what you have to work with when the time comes.
They say that confidence is the sexiest thing you can wear, but what if you don’t own any, or you’ve lost it in the back of your dresser? Then what? – Well, fortunately for you, it’s actually very simple to find it again.
Here’s how.
Hit the gym
If you’re not happy with your body, whether that cellulite is getting you down, or your love handles are getting too comfortable – do something about it. If you know you’d like to get in shape; it’s as simple as buying yourself a gym membership. Sure, the idea can be a very daunting one, but you don’t have to go alone, ask your bestie to be your gym partner, or if that’s not for you – workout at home. One of the most difficult things about working out isn’t actually the physical demands that your body is going through – it’s the mental motivation. It’s giving yourself enough of a reason to get up from your favourite spot on the sofa, and go for a run instead. But once you get over that, you’ll find yourself in a routine that will get you on track to a better body.
Tell yourself you’re beautiful
Yes, it sounds corny, and while it may make you roll your eyes – just try it. Our brain is a powerful tool, full of logic and reasoning, but sometimes, it can be tricked. So while you may look at yourself in the mirror and don’t necessarily like what you see looking back at you – smile, and tell yourself you’re beautiful. Do this every single day, and you may just start to believe it. You can even take this one step further by saying one positive thing about yourself. This doesn’t have to be in terms of your appearance though, as that isn’t the only way a person can be beautiful. There are many traits that come from within too, so say them – out loud. “I am intelligent.” “I am funny.” “I’m a kind person.” “I’m super good at algebra!” – Whatever it may be, give yourself some love. You deserve it.
So as you can see, confidence can be physical, and mental. So at times, we should focus on our appearance, because it doesn’t hurt to want to look better, it’s normal, and there’s nothing shameful about that. That’s why we encourage healthy eating and adopting a healthy lifestyle. But it is also important that we take as much time as we use on that aspect of our lives, to look at how our minds are functioned to work too. Beauty and confidence come from within, so the sooner you realise that, the sooner you’ll rock that bikini.
