I won a mamaRoo!!!
Today’s grandma needs practically everything a new parent has, we don’t see our grandchildren on Sundays only but are a part of their every day lives. I’m very fortunate to have my daughter and son in law across the street. I don’t intrude (or try not to) but since Prince T has arrived, it seems I’m at her house every day 🙂 Now don’t go thinking that I’m up her butt. I’ll always call and see what she’s doing first. She’s on maternity leave so she welcomes the company, and I don’t over stay my visit. I’ll sometimes walk Prince T to my house so she could have an hour or so by herself, we also have dinner together a couple times a week. It’s very convenient that she could walk just a few steps and come over. Carrying the bouncy seat and all the needed items for Prince can be a challenge.
Prince T loves to move- in fact he’s always moving. When this boy becomes mobile, my daughter is in big trouble. He also doesn’t like to be held constantly even though I’m willing to be at his beck and call. He likes to sit and look at everything around him. This is why I’m looking forward to getting the mamaRoo. There’s no way I can carry his swing over, but to have one of my own is going to rock…well for him.
When I first saw the mamaRoo, I thought of Mork from Ork. I know….I’m dating myself now, not sure if some of you even know who he is. He was an alien who popped in on The Fonz (Happy Days) and then had a show spin off called, Mork and Mindy. He flew to earth in an egg spaceship…..hence the reminder from mamaRoo.
This egg shaped moving device is NOT a swing but it states ” It moves like you do”.
Five unique motions
The mamaRoo bounces up and down and sways from side to side, just like parents do when comforting their babies.
-
Car Ride
A figure eight on its side
-
KangaRoo
Lots of up-and-down, less side-to-side
-
Tree Swing
High on the sides, low in the middle
-
Rock-A-Bye
Low on the sides, high in the middle
-
Ocean Wave
Around in a big circle
It has Speeds for rest or play and Three plush toy balls are black and white
on one side for infants. The other side is for
when babies can see color (around 4 months). Perfectly sized for little hands, they easily pop in and out of the mobile so babies can chew…err…study them.
You can choose from one of five nature sounds, or for something a little more rockin’, connect any MP3 player. The mamaRoo’s seat reclines to any position along its axis. The machine washable fabric removes easily. It’s as easy to clean as it is to use.
This sounds like it’s going be something my Prince T really enjoys. Plus I only want the best of the best for him and I think the mamaRoo is Top of The Line from what I’ve read and seen so far. I will give you an update once I receive this gem!
Do you have a mamaRoo? Have you ever seen or heard of it? This grandma “Mimi” wants to hear your thoughts!
