Christmas day is almost here; if you are hosting this year’s celebration, you probably have a lot of items on your to-do list. And as long as that list might be, chances are there are a few items you have forgotten to put on your list. To help you feel confident and prepared on Christmas Day, here is our list of the top three holiday prep tasks most of us tend to forget.
Clean Out the Refrigeorator
This one is two-fold. First, when cleaning the house so it is guest-friendly, we tend to forget about the refrigerator. Make sure the shelves are free of spills and take time to wipe down jars and bottles; you never know what guests will need from your refrigerator and you don’t want them grabbing anything messy.
However, you should also look into eliminating items whenever possible. Once dinner is over, those leftovers are going to need a home. Instead of stressing over it into the night after all the guests are gone, prepare your refrigerator in advance.
Coffee Bar Stocked
There will be lots of celebrating with cocktails but when desserts are served, your coffee should be ready too. You should have regular coffee as well as decaf and I like to have specialty coffees to keep the wow factor going. This is where my Ninja Coffee Bar® System
comes into play. It has a built-in frother with hot and cold frothing capabilities, six brew sizes (Cup, XL Cup, Travel Mug, XL Multi-Serve, Half Carafe, and Full Carafe), five brew types, including the Ninja exclusive Café Forte – which amplifies the natural subtle flavors of your favorite coffee, for a sensationally different and delicious coffee experience!
Tip: Flavored creamers, amaretto, kahlua, whipped cream, caramel, and chocolate are additions on your coffee bar guests will love!
Make Sure the Bathroom is Stocked
While we always remember to clean the bathroom in advance, we don’t always check to make sure it is well-stocked. Make sure there are multiple rolls of toilet paper, several hand towels, and plenty of soap before guests arrive. You don’t want your guests to need to ask for you to fetch supplies during the celebration.
Keep Some Back-Up Gifts on Hand
If your family is like most, holiday celebrations often include last-minute guests. And as a good host, you would never want a guest to feel left out during your gift exchange. Purchase some small gifts you can keep on hand—such as chocolates—that will make any last-minute guests feel included. If no one extra shows, you can always set them out at work after vacation is over or enjoy them yourself.
