You see the covers of magazines or watch TV and you notice that all the women have beautiful hair. There is no frizz, it shines, and it seems to stay in place. I have had many people sit in my chair and show me a picture and say, “I want to look like that!”. Let’s be realistic unless you have a stylist, lighting expert, and a makeup artist, it’s not going to happen. Let’s Talk Hair:

These are some of my favorite tips that I give everyone. You are training yourself so be patient and do not expect perfection the first time. Practice makes perfect and 21 days of practice makes a habit!

1. Make sure your shampoo and conditioner is made for your hair type.
2. When shampooing your hair, massage your scalp with the pads of your fingers (NOT your nails). This stimulates the scalp and gets the blood flowing creating better hair growth, plus it feels wonderful!
3. Keep up with your trims. You should be trimming your hair every 6-8 weeks even if you are growing it out.
4. Use a wide toothed comb to comb out tangles in wet hair. Always start at the bottom and work your way up to the roots to prevent breakage.
5. Do not rub the towel through your hair to get the wet out, instead squeeze the towel around hair multiple times.
6. Use the proper product. You will always hear me say product, product, product! The product should be able to help you create your desired look. Example: If your hair is very fine a mousse is light and won’t weigh it down and give you the lift you need.
7. Use product correctly, a product like mousse should be emulsified in your hands and then applied.
