Play Day: The Most Playful Day Of The Year
So, what’s all this about being playful? And why does GoGo squeeZ keep asking you to #GoGoPlayfully on January 11th? They believe that playfulness is an attitude and that by embracing a playful attitude, families can become healthier, happier, and more connected. It can be a little bit difficult to get playful… especially this time of year! So, GoGo squeez decided to create their very own holiday dedicated to playfulness. They’re inviting YOU on January 11th to celebrate the First Annual OFFICIAL Play Day. Here’s how YOU can get in on the most playful day of the year:
In each of the four time zones, we’ve chosen one city to kick off Play Day at exactly 1:11pm. In New York, the New York Knicks’ dancers will lead the celebration in Herald Square while we surprise and delight guests in landmark Times Square. In Chicago, Olympic Gold Medalist, Kerri Strug, will host the high flying Jesse White Tumblers at Navy Pier, all while treating families to free rides on the carousel. In the Mountain Time Zone, we’ll celebrate at Aspen’s annual Winterskol celebration, and invite all families to a snowball throw at 1:11pm. Far out on the West Coast, The Santa Monica Promenade and Santa Monica Pier will set the stage for the final Play Day celebration featuring XPogo pros doing their world-record-setting feats and free trips on the famous Ferris Wheel.

To begin fulfilling the promise of making 2014 “the most playful year ever,” the brand has declared January 11 (1-11) as “Play Day” nationwide, launched its first-ever national advertising campaign, and will be kicking off its second annual partnership with Life is good® Playmakers by donating $11,000 towards spreading the power of play.
In celebration of “Play Day,” 11 cities across the nation – Aspen, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Miami and Tampa – will receive a visit from the brand’s “playbassadors” for a day of surprises, delights, performances, and, of course, free samples of GoGo squeeZ’s “awesomesauce.” In an effort to continue learning from its fan base, at each playful burst along the way GoGo squeeZ will be surveying families to learn how they incorporate playfulness into their daily lives.
Over the course of the day, “playbassadors” in each city will give away a total of 111,000 pouches of GoGo squeeZ, the no-spoon, no-mess way to enjoy fruit on-the-go. The playful main event will kick off at 1:11p.m. in each continental U.S. time zone, rolling from New York City to Los Angeles over the course of the day.
It all begins with performances by the New York Knicks dance team in New York City and an $11,000 donation to the brand’s partners in play, Boston-based Life is good® Playmakers. The excitement will then travel to Chicago with an appearance by Olympic Gold Medal Gymnast Kerri Strug, then to Aspen with a snowman building contest on the slopes, and will culminate in Los Angeles with extreme pogo-stick feats by the X-pogo Team.
