Miami is, without a doubt, a bucket-list worthy stop for anyone looking to vacation in the United States. Every city has more than one story, but you can’t ignore the sheer glitz, glam, and sunshine of the Magic City. There’s a lot to do on land, but if you’re going there for the first time, you’ll be wanting to spend most of your time one of the country’s most gorgeous coasts.
With the beautiful people
South Beach is easily one of the most popular spots in the whole city. Sometimes it can be super crowded, but if you visit a little off-season, you’re still likely to see all the surfers, all the loungers, and all the beautiful people out in force. As well as being popular, of course, spending your time by South Beach can be fairly expensive as well, so make sure you pick up some money-saving tips like using a Go Miami card if you’re traveling to and from the beach by public transport often.
With luxury and style
If your budget’s a little bigger and you’re willing to spend more on the five-star Miami experience, then you won’t want to spend all your time on the beach anyway. You’ll want even better views of the gorgeous coasts with boat rentals in Miami. There’s a diverse range of options for different boats and services, but you could make an entire holiday of choosing every amenity available and just having one big long party on the sea. It’s certainly one way to make a splash on the scene. Particularly great if you have a big group traveling with you.
With your heart in your throat
You can’t talk about the coasts without talking about the water sports activities available there and Miami certainly isn’t offering anything too skimpy there. There’s a whole range of water sporting services in Miami to accompany different needs. Whether you want to jet ski, to paraglide, or to banana boat, you’ll find it all there. One thing that isn’t as exciting is the surfing scene. The waves can best be described as lazy but that can make it perfect for the more novice surfers amongst you. There’s still a thriving scene there, of course.
With your boots on
If you love a good hike, then there’s still plenty that Miami has to offer in that regard, too. There are a few decent hikes in the area, including the all-too-famous Everglades trail. But if it’s coastal views you’re asking for, then you want to head to the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. There are rolling beaches to contrast the wetlands and one of the best sites is a towering, historic lighthouse standing stark on otherwise tranquil surroundings. Definitely for those of you who want to get a bit more active and get a sense of adventure.
From water sports to high-sea adventures, hiking trails to lazy days on the beach, Miami has all that a coastal adventurer could want. Pick your poison; you’re not likely to be disappointed regardless of what you choose.
