I’m always cold and I couldn’t imagine being without a coat when I go outside. When I was asked to join the Burlington annual Warm Coats and Warm Hearts Coat Drive campaign, I couldn’t help but to say yes! This is a great way to give back that can mean being cold or warm! It’s also a great way to help the local community because donated coats stay locally within each store community and are given to those most in need.
I hit my closet and realized I have more than enough coats for me. I needed to really open my heart- here I am deciding which coat to give and there are people with No coats. I pulled out three coats and three sweaters and put them in a bag. These coats and sweaters have been with me for a few years and deserve to move on to someone else. The North Face coat I bought when I went to Colorado for the first time and we had quite an adventure. Maybe it will go on another adventure with someone else.
I called a friend and told her what I was doing and she decided she would make the trip with me to the Burlington Store.
Once we got to Burlington we went to the cashier, showed her our coats and with each coat donation, we received 10% off their entire purchase as Burlington’s thank you. A great way to give back and save money at the same time! We dropped our coats in the bin and headed in to shop! Visit the Coat
Drive site to learn more and where you can donate by 1/19/2015.
Why You Should Donate Your Coat
With more than 45 million Americans living in poverty and temperatures dipping below freezing, the
need for warmth is great and coats are a must!
More than 1.3 million coats have been collected and donated over the past 7 years. All donated
coats remain with each store community, helping neighbors most in need.
2014/2015 marks the 8th consecutive year of the Annual Warm Coats and Warm Hearts Coat Drive,
hosted by Burlington in partnership with ABC’s Good Morning America and the national non-profit
organization, K.I.D.S/Fashion Delivers. This year’s theme is families helping families.
I already mentioned you get 10% off on your own shopping trip and you have until January 19, 2015 to Visit the Coat
Drive site to learn more and where you can donate. This would be a great post-holiday activity! Did you get a new coat for the holidays?
Socially Share and Maybe We’ll See You On Good Morning America
Donate your coat and take a picture doing it. Tell us why you are donating with #CoatNotes on Twitter and Instagram and your story could appear on ABC’s Good Morning America.
How To Donate Your Coat
