Our next adventure began at Chatfield Hollow. My family & I went to spend a day by the lake. There are picnic tables, charcoal grills, a beach/swimming area & you can fish the rest of the lake. We began our day swimming and playing in the sand on the beach. We had a great time doing all of that but it was time to get down to business and do some fishing. I helped my son get his hook into the water and I decided to throw a Red & White Dardevle spoon. Fishing from the bank, I cast as far as my gear would let me and simply reeled the spoon in at a constant speed. After about 15 minutes I finally got a bite and brought in a small rainbow trout! My son was beyond excited (finally a fish without spikes that he could touch).
We decided to stay and fish a bit longer and I just kept casting the spoon. About 15 minutes later we landed a slightly larger Trout. If you would like you can also do some stream fishing and I’m sure there is plenty of trout to be found. It began to get late and we decided to call it, all in all a good day at the lake!
