My grandson’s fourth birthday party was themed Monster’s University. His mom gets all creative at his parties and I help her but I still like to make one special treat for him. I always went crazy for my girls parties so of course I want to do something for my grandchildren! His second birthday was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and I made Mickey Mouse lollipops and sense the kids loved those pops, I thought they would be perfect for his fourth party. If you’re having a Monster’s Inc or a Monster’s University party these Mike Wazowski lollipops are for you!
What you need:
One package of double stuff Oreos
3 bags of light green candy melt
One bag of pop sticks
Candy eyeballs (large) Here are the ones I used- Eyeballs
Cookie drying rack
Paper towel
Step 1
Push lollipops sticks slowly into Oreos (I twist as I push it in) If the creme starts breaking and pushing out on the other side, use another stick to gently pack it back in
Step 2
Melt chocolate – I melt my chocolate slowly in the microwave by filling a cup with discs and only turning it on for 30 second at first, stir well. The more you stir, you’ll see the chocolate to start to melt. If the chocolate isn’t melted put it back in microwave at 10 second intervals, stirring well in between! * Do Not Over Heat The Chocolate
Step 3
Dip the pops in the chocolate to totally cover it, Let remainder chocolate drip off, twirl pop for a minute, place on drying rack
*** Place down a paper towel and put a cookie drying rack on it, place pop through rack and paper towel will stop it from slipping**
Step 4
Allow to dry approximately 10-15 mins and add eyes by pushing them into chocolate
Step 5
Allow to dry completely. You can place in individual bags or stand in homemade lollipop stand
Homemade lollipop stand-
I took a small box and added the foam for flower arranging (purchased at DollarTree) Wrap box in wrapping paper of your choice. Use a toothpick to make the hole and then push lollipop into hole and foam. They stand alone and you can use it as part of your decorations.
Extra Chocolate?? Don’t let it go to waste!
Cut a piece of wax paper, pour all chocolate into pile and spread with the back of a small going in a circular motion. (Your making a large disc) Let dry completely and use white frosting as large part of eye and blue frosting as pupil.
