Each year I try to make an ornaments with my grandsons so I can have a homemade craft from them and they can give a present to their mom and dad. On chilly winter nights we love to cuddle with a fuzzy blanket and have hot chocolate so this easy hot chocolate ornament will represent your hot chocolate family moments.
What You Need:
Clear ornament- best to find plastic since the kids will be doing these
Small marshmallows
Hot chocolate
Candy Canes
Ribbon
Funnel
Hammer
Directions
- Take off the top of the ornament- Use the container they came in to hold it in place so it doesn’t roll
- Place a candy cane in a baggie and hammer it to crush into small pieces **Be sure to place on something that can be hit with the hammer- the kids love this part
- Place funnel in ornament and pour in one package of hot chocolate
- When you take the funnel out, the children will be tempted to taste the remaining hot chocolate but don’t let them do this or the next one will get stuck from their spit
- Take out funnel, do not lick, drop in 5-6 marshmallows
- Drop in crushed candy cane
- Replace top
- Tie ribbon on top to make a bow
Optional- With a permanent marker write their name or a holiday message and the year.
