November 11th is Veteran’s Day and this is a time when we all should come together and celebrate every one of the men and women who through generations made sure we kept our freedom. My Pop was in WWII and his mission was to clear out Normandy Beach to make it easier for the wave to come in, which was D-Day! He was 17 years old, just a kid, storming a beach! The mission was so intense, they didn’t expect many of these troops to come home and even named them “The Suicide Squad”. I sometimes think of what these young men and women have been through for us (You and Me) not even knowing us but wanting to make sure our country stayed a free country. I then think of some of the things I get annoyed with and this always puts me back in check! I’m so proud of him and so happy he made it home to start a family!
It warms my heart when I see companies who give back to veterans! And the companies who give back to veterans all year long I make sure to support whole heartedly. DAV (Disabled American Veterans) is a non-profit charity that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families, helping more than one million veterans in positive, life-changing ways each year.
You can help U.S. veterans, too, by donating any car, truck, RV or boat. Really! If you were to donate your car, truck, RV, or boat, you would get a tax deduction but more importantly you would be helping a veteran and filling your heart with goodness! The best part is is super easy and truthfully very convenient. They pickup the vehicle for free and you never have to leave your house!
I encourage you to consider donating your vehicle and learn more about DAV and how veterans can access services.
Remember, THEY have put their lives on the line for us, don’t you think it’s worth a vehicle we were getting rid of? We need to give back!
Donating is a great way to get rid of an old or extra vehicle.
Turn your vehicle into resources that help empower veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.
Here’s How Easy It Works:
1) Call 844-440-4267 or complete the online donation form at Car4DAV.com.
2) Schedule Your Free and Convenient Pick-up: DAV works around your schedule to pick-up your donated vehicle. As long as your vehicle is towable and tow truck accessible, DAV provides free and convenient pick-up that is a touchless experience.
3) Get Your Tax Deduction. Vehicle donations are tax-deductible! An initial donation receipt is provided at the time of the pick-up. If the vehicle sells for $500 or less, donors are also mailed a thank-you letter within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle, which serves as a tax receipt. If the vehicle sells for more than $500 and the donor has provided their tax identification number, an IRS Form 1098-C will be mailed to the donor within 30 days of the sale stating the amount of gross proceeds (the maximum amount of your tax deduction) received from your donation. For specific tax-related questions, please consult your tax advisor.
About DAV:
DAV empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. It is dedicated to a single purpose: keeping our promise to America’s veterans. DAV does this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; providing employment resources to veterans and their families and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life. DAV, a non-profit organization with more than 1 million members, was founded in 1920 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1932.
