Creating Lasting Memories With Giving To Charities

November 28, 2018 Rachel Ferrucci

Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and it’s the perfect time to teach your children or grandchildren why we should all give back. Thanksgiving brings many families together to share an amazing meal, lasting memories, and chats about Black Friday and Christmas shopping. It’s also a great time to plan how the family will be participating in Giving Tuesday and what charities everyone would like to help.

Here are some ideas:

Toys

Ask everyone to bring an unwrapped toy to dinner and make it a point to take the kids out shopping over the weekend to pick out a toy that they’ll be donating. When our girls were young we would collect toys from family and friends and bring them to the local battered women’s shelter. I would also get some gifts for the moms. You couldn’t give them directly to the women and children but I was able to find out how many boys or girls and approximate ages so I could tell everyone what was needed.
Food- Not one soul should be hungry! While grocery shopping, grab some extra items to bring to shelters or the local soup kitchen. Ask the family to bring something on Thanksgiving to donate. Again get the kids involved by asking what they’d like to donate. They may surprise you with wanting to donate healthier items.

Money

Any charity can always use cash. It’s a no brainer and doesn’t take up much of our time. Over the past 6 months I have learned so many great things about T-Mobile as an Ambassador and now I learned that T-Mobile wants to give everyone the opportunity to give back and created a way for ALL to participate. Customers, fans, employees and even Verizon and AT&T customers decide where it goes!

Here’s How:

T-Mobile customers–

On Giving Tuesday (11/27) via the TMT app, customers will get the chance to give $1 on us to Feeding America ($1=10 meals) — plus, you can text-to-give as well.  You will also get the chance to win a gift code you can use donate to your favorite charity.

Non T-Mobile customers-

Go to Twitter and  retweet @TMobile’s Giving Tuesday tweet on 11/27, T-Mobile will donate $1 (10 meals) to Feeding America.

T-Mobile set aside more than $2 million dollars for Giving Tuesday so let’s make sure we use every dollar!

Want to do something after Giving Tuesday?

Join @TMobile for their Twitter party on Thursday, 11/29 at 9pm EST. T-Mobile will provide Five $100 Benevity Gift Code prizes for the Twitter party that winners can use to give to a charity of their choice.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
