Archery is defined as the art, practice, or skill of shooting with bow and arrow – according to Merriam-Webster. Many people correlate archery as only being for those looking to hunt. The question is, “What does it mean to you?” For me it means family time, giving me the opportunity to share something that I love with my wife & children. When I was a teenager I got my first bow & was instantly hooked. So last year I decided to purchase my 3 yr old son a toy compound bow for Christmas. It shoots small arrows with suction cups on the end, nothing fancy. Instantly he loved it, he pretends he is hunting and is always shooting. Soon after I found myself with a burning desire to get a new bow and shoot again. Then the research began, I spent countless hours reading and deciding on which brand/style I wanted. But the real research didn’t start until I visited Connecticut Archery.
I showed up on a Saturday looking for some additional information and maybe the chance to let a few arrows fly. Keep in mind it’s been over 15 years since I owned a bow, so I was definitely not ready to purchase & I had a ton of questions. That being said Connecticut Archery isn’t like heading out to your outdoor superstore. You aren’t going to wonder around forever looking for someone to help you or feel like they cant wait for you to leave. The store is well stocked and the staff is not only knowledgeable, but enjoy their job and were willing to take the time to answer all of my questions. Whether you would like to learn about archery for the first time or you’re a seasoned vet, they have what you are looking for.

Owner Mike Scaniffe even designed, built & sells the “real time” bow torque indicator – Square Up. Bow torque is simply a misalignment of the bow riser’s twist axis, which places the bows riser and arrow rest out of square to the most efficient nock travel. It will result in fishtailing arrows and a high percentage of left and right misses. Shooting Square-Up allows you to perceive and to correct any error in the bows twist axis. It is easy to set up, simple to shoot and it absolutely works. Try one for yourself and see the difference! For more information click here! Or Order one now!
