We tend to downplay our birthdays as we get older. Whether it’s because we’re not comfortable with the attention, are embarrassed about our age or are just too busy with work and other commitments- it tends to be a much smaller affair than when we were young. But it shouldn’t be this way, birthdays are special and most definitely a time to celebrate! Not everyone is lucky enough to grow another year older, so make the most of life and enjoy it as much as you can. Here are some of the ways you can make your next birthday bash your best yet.
Hire a Party Bus
A night on the town is good fun, but why not really do it in style? A party bus comes equipped with lights, drinks, and music. You can enjoy the experience while the bus takes you to different stops along the way- you could plan an evening of bar hopping across your favorite cocktail bars and nightclubs. It’s something a bit different and isn’t likely to be something you or your friends have done before. So if you are looking to push the boat out, this could be the answer! Alternatively, you could hire a limo and enjoy champagne in the back, and have an awesome form of transport to and from your night out.
Throw a Party At Home
When you throw a party at home, you have free reign to do whatever you want. How about a ‘childhood nostalgia’ theme- you could do fancy dress, a bounce house, even giant lawn games like snakes and ladders and Jenga! On the flip side if you wanted to do something fancy and elegant, how about a vintage afternoon tea, or a cocktail party? If your budget is smaller, you could buy decorations from eBay and dollar stores, and do a potluck style feast where everyone brings a dish. If you wanted to go more extravagant, you could hire a chocolate fountain company, an entertainer or even a photo booth for your guests to have fun with. Basically, you can do anything you like. You can really have fun with it and make it totally unique, and tailor it to your budget or your interests.
Adventure Weekend
Instead of a single day or evening to celebrate, why not make a weekend of it? Round up your friends and go on a mini break, you could stay in log cabins and take part in paint balling, zip wiring, canoeing and so much more. Have a look at what kinds of things are local to you, different companies will have different packages and activities available. See if it’s something your friends would be up for and whether it is possible for everyone budget wise. While this would be a pricier option, it would definitely be an exciting and memorable way to spend your birthday!
Do you make much of an effort to celebrate your birthday? What’s the best birthday you have ever had?
