The 2017 Prius Prime!
Toyota sent me to see Wicked in the Prius Prime! I picked up one of my besties in the Prius Prime and we flew over to see the musical Wicked! I was amazed at the control and speed. I didn’t need to use any spells to enjoy this 4-wheeled magic ride. It got me thinking, what car would the wicked witch from Wicked drive?
Why the Prius Prime? Well, there are a lot of reasons. First of all, it has been heavily redesigned in terms of looks. If your picture of a Prius is an oddly shaped, somewhat frumpy vehicle, the Prime will change all that. It has a much sleeker profile and a slightly futuristic design—fitting, as the company views the Prime as the car of the future.
And really, they should. The dual-motor hybrid powertrain in the Prime is the most efficient on the market today, offering 133 MPGe. Unlike most hybrid cars, the Prime can handle highway speeds in EV mode, allowing you maximum efficiency wherever you are going. While on EV mode, you can travel up to 25 miles before switching over to hybrid. You can select the drive mode you want or let the car decide for you.
It also comes with other high-tech features that make it feel like the car of the future. Standard Toyota Safety Sense P offers special safety features such as a pre-collision system which also can detect pedestrians, lane departure alerts with steering assist, and dynamic radar cruise control. As with other Prius models, you get an HD multimedia screen to control all the special features.
And unlike many other plug-in hybrid cars, you do not need special equipment for Prime. It plugs into a standard household outlet using the supplied cable. Charging is complete in under six hours.
The musical Wicked was not what I had imagined at all. I am a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz and I didn’t think I would enjoy the musical nearly as much as I enjoy the movie. To my surprise the musical was an entire different storyline. It was as if I was behind the scenes of The Wizard of Oz getting the inside scoop. I don’t want to give spoilers so I will only tell you that you will have a different view of The Wicked Witch and this musical may even have you crying. This is now one of my favorite musicals!
