Last month I went to see the Bret Michaels Band and actually drove to another state to see him. Well truthfully, I was going to see my brother who I hadn’t seen in months. He works with the band and tours with them. Anyway as a travel writer I attend many movie junkets, movie premieres, concerts, and I interview many celebrities. I’m not star struck at all and I always keep my cool even if I’m a huge fan. I have met Joe Manganiello, hung out with Kiefer Sutherland, and next week I interview Johnny Depp. OK, back to Bret- It was time for me to meet Bret Michaels, I walked in cool as a cucumber and then it happened. He looked at me and when I looked into his eyes, I was gone. YEP, totally gone. He was talking to those around me and I couldn’t stop starring, I literally started pinching my BFF who was standing next to me. I had to compose myself so I didn’t look like one of those crazy girl fans. I thought to myself… “Who the hell are you Rachel, what is happening”. Then it happened, he turned to me and started talking. I can’t tell you what he said (I’m pretty sure he glamoured me), I just saw him motion to come stand with him for a photo. I jumped right in there for my photo opp and after a few minutes I came to. The glamouring was over thank god.
Glamour is a supernatural form of mental compulsion or influence that is specific to vampires~True Blood
The Band
I also met the members of The Bret Michaels Band and we hung out and chatted all day. Eric Brittingham, the bassist was pretty awesome and I was amazed because he wasn’t feeling well but when he got on stage, he made sure his fans received every ounce of energy. That is total fan loyalty!
My new friend, Mike Bailey is the drummer. Not only does he totally rock the drums (I know this stuff) but he also is a partner in Potomac Records which represents the Washington DC Metropolitan area music community. After talking with Mike for a short time, you will see his passion for music and all artists. Connect on social with him!
The Stage
I was blown away with Bret’s energy on stage. It doesn’t matter if there are 1500 or 50,000 people in the audience, he performs and gives it his all. I was surprised at the girls crazies who were my age and were freaking out to get near him. One girl actually elbowed me so hard that my first instinct was to…….. well let’s just say my hubby grabbed me. I wanted to say… I look sweet and innocent but bitch I will cut you! Do women have any class anymore? Ok, back to Bret- If you haven’t seen one of his shows (maybe you lived under a rock) you really need to go. And if you haven’t seen him since the 80’s, you definitely need to go. Once you see him on stage it will bring you back and make you feel like you’re 18 again. You’ll be dancing, singing, and rocking out having a blast. When he sang my all-time favorite song, Talk Dirty To Me, I think I sang so loud that I didn’t even hear him. It’s like a live sing-a-long with eye candy!
Do Good
When you get tickets to the BMB check out the VIP tickets at the merchandise booth. You can meet Bret and take a picture with him. All the proceeds go to Children’s Diabetes so it’s a win win!
I’m hoping some day to interview Bret but I think I may need to ask him to wear sunglasses!
